I am running into problems with publishing with Frontpage 2003 on my sites at Total Choice Hosting. I have 30 websites that I manage and when I run into a problem, I have to reinstall Frontpage Extensions which is very time consuming. After submitting several tickets concerning this problem, I am told that Frontpage was designed for Windows servers and will not work as well on Total Choice Linux based servers. Has anyone else had this problem and if you did, what did you do to correct the problem?

Welcome to the forum, Connie Boggess. :)

I am not sure if bryangr found a solution for this, so please submit a ticket to the helpdesk as Tom says. Link on top of page and in my signature.

Are all 30 managed using Frontpage? You may want to look into other programs that are more standards-friendly than Micro$oft. For example, Nvu may help you out. It is similar to FP, so there won't be as much of a learning curve. And the best part of all...it's FREE!

I've used FP in the past, but mainly as a learning device to learn HTML and how web pages are created and developed. Once I felt kinda comfortable, I dropped it in favor of other applications that work just as good, but adhere to W3C standards. While I didn't have as many sites as you, I don't recall having any major issues while I was using FP. As previously mentioned, describe the problems you're having for us...there may be someone else out there who has had the same thing happen to them.

Because I'm using it as a training tool, I'm using FrontPage 2003 for my sites. One site I update extensively in bursts. Anyway, once I have it set up I have no problems with it. I had to fiddle with it to get it set up right (make sure you check Passive FTP) but once it talks I don't have to go back and reinstall Extensions or anything - just use it.

Perhaps with more details about the problem someone here could help you figure out what's going wrong.
