Digirunt Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 Question: Do I need to do anything in the Cpanel to activate a domain that is being directed here? Me having a winge: My old server assured me the DNS entries have been changed on saint52.com to yours [which I provided] and that it would take 24-48 hours to complete, this was a week ago ! I have had to phone them twice and have sent eight emails regarding this subject. How hard can it be? My other old server [don't ask] offered instant replies to my emails while setting up and yet now I am trying to obtain a cancellation and refund, again two weeks have passed with no outcome. I would advise anyone to avoid these servers [obviously if they're here but hey?] especially 1T3 who offer unlimited bandwith [like that exists] and whose customer support team, sales department and all other departments is one bloke who funnily enough appears to be the only customer who has positively rated they're server on the reviews sites. And oneandone webhosting whose packages and option are as flexible as a concrete block, and whose control panel kicks you out every 30mins [security my a**e] and even loads s..l..o..w..l..y.. on ADSl. With so many naff servers out there what a refreshing change to find TCH. If only there was some sort of regulation of these servers. . . If only they were all as good as TCH Rock Sign << [sucky uppy bit ] Oh well. Quote
TCH-JimE Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 (edited) Hi, No nothing needs to be done, although if you want the domain parked, you must start a help ticket so that we can add it to your DNS zone. Or you can make a redirect in the control panel of your domain name. Jim Edited July 10, 2003 by Jimuni Quote
TCH-Andy Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 Hi, in answer to the direct question, no, you don't need to change anything in cPanel. Haveing a look at your domain name with Whois, it is registered in your name, which is good, with Schlund+Partner AG in Germany (although I guess you already know this ) Have you tried going direct to them to get things sorted out? TCH-JimE Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 Hi, Having had a check through the DNS entry for the domain name, they are still pointing to the old domain name servers. You have two choices with your domain name: 1) Park it on your current domain name. You will need to get your company to change the nameservers to point to ours, and start a help ticket so that we can change your DNS zone for this. 2) Get the company to just do a simple re-direct. Whatever happens, at current ( 10/07/03) they are not pointing at our nameservers Cheers Jim Quote
Digirunt Posted July 10, 2003 Author Posted July 10, 2003 Schlund+Partner AG Who? I have no access to this domains cpanel as it was registered by the wholey useless oneandone web hosting [supposedly british?]. I will try to contact them again as they have assured me the DNS was done three days ago now. Quote
TCH-JimE Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 Hi, Having had a quick look at one and one web site, and the Schlund+Partner website, one and one are acting as a resellers for them. Important: As Schlund+Partner is registering domain names for many providers and resellers, please contact your provider or web hoster first if you want modifications on your domain name. Back to one and one I guess! Jim Quote
Digirunt Posted July 10, 2003 Author Posted July 10, 2003 Right once again I've phoned and once aain I've been assured it will be changed within 24 hours. Now I wait! Rock Sign Quote

doc Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 Man....can I ever remember those days! Spending hours every day just trying to get a response from my hosting service. Calling phone #'s that had been disconnected or never existed. It amazes me that they can get away with it for so long. All it took was for me to see the TCH forum, and I knew who would be hosting all my sites! What a great bunch of folks! Thanks to everybody at TCH, for making not only a great service, but a fun place to hang and shoot the uummmmmm...... I mean talk..... Quote

New business = New account guess who is hosting that then? Quote
