Hi everyone.

My PHP bulletin board is getting spammed. Every forum is getting the identical topic and message, with randomly-generated guest names.

I had to delete each spam message manually. It didn't take too long, but if this keeps up, and gets out of hand, I won't be able to get rid of it all.

Any way to prevent this, or, at the very least, limit it? Thanks! Jd

JD,

I just had a look, and you can post without registering. You need to login to the admin panel for your board and turn that option off, which will cut down a lot of your spam.

Can you point me to where that option is? I went into Admin and there's a Permissions area with a Simple and Advanced Mode. I changed each forum section to Post/Reg and Reply/Reg.

Is that sufficient?

Also, if you have a phpBB board, search for the mod/post which changes your form names for logging in too, that cut my spam on my phpBB board by about 90%

Can you please elaborate on what that is? Is the mod/post the same thing that I referred to above... the Permissions area with a Simple and Advanced mode?

Thank you! Jd

That should do the trick for you.
