TOWebstress Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 (edited) I am buying a .ca domain name, and want to host at Total Choice. I host several other sites with TCH, but I've always bought my names through them. They can't sell a .ca name, so I need to get it elsewhere and set it to TCH. Do I buy the hosting first? Or the domain name? Thanks! Edited October 14, 2006 by TOWebstress Quote
makaveli Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 the domain then you say i want my new TCH space pointed at whatever.com otherwise it would be buy hosting, buy name, contact help desk, point domain thats my opinion anyways Quote
Just_Rob Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I would get the name first and then hosting. I have seen it the other way around and for some reason the name that hosting was registered with became unavailable. Quote
TCH-Rick Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I would agree with Rob and get the domain first. Then purchase the hosting account and sign up with the domain. Once you receive the welcome email just change the nameservers on the domain with your registrar to the ones given in the email and wait for propagation. Quote
