TCH-Rick Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 If anyone else out there is a Lockergnome subscriber, you may have seen today's download suggestion. CoreFTP is a free FTP client. I haven't used it a lot yet but find it to be very clean and it has lots of features including right click access to properties so you can change permissions, etc. Give it a try by downloading from http://www.coreftp.com. TCH-Don Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 Hi Rick, I have been trying CoreFTP and I like it too. Very nice, Thanks Thumbs Up Quote
aaron_ginn Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 Another good free FTP client is FileZilla: http://filezilla.sourceforge.net Aaron Quote
dreamcloudwolf Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 Another good free FTP client is FileZilla Yes, it's good for uploading & downloading, but when I first used it, I discovered I couldn't change permissions using it. I checked out Help and did a search for permissions, but no luck. In the end, I downloaded SmartFTP, which allowed me to change permissions (had to check out the tutorials for it 'cuz there were so many features doing different things). Quote
TCH-Don Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 With CoreFTP just right click and select properties to change permissions. It is one on the fastest FTP programs to connect to a site with. I copied my forum to my computer, and it was very fast and completed the transfer without a hitch. My old FTP program stopped about half way through. Quote
DarqFlare Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 I've just always used SmartFTP, haven't had any real problems with it... I like it. I may try Core soon. Quote
