queenpictoria Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Hello. I did a test on the webmail by putting this link into it: <a href="http://www.queenpictoria.com/EMAIL/QEmailPart1.html" target="_blank">Email Brochure</font></a> I sent it to my hotmail address hoping for a way to hide the URL, but alas, it didn't work. How do I implement HTML into my beloved webmail? Thanks, queenpictoria Quote
abinidi Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 April, I don't use the webmail options included in cPanel, but you might be interested to know that there are third-party e-mail applications that will let you send your messages in HTML. For example, in Thunderbird, when you are composing a message, you can highlight text, then choose "Insert | Link" from the menu (or just press Ctrl + L), you can put the target for your link. Its an easy solution, and many of our TCH friends prefer local solutions to web-based solutions anyway. Best wishes! Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I do not believe it is possible with webmail. You would be able to send email using Thunderbird, Outlook or Outlook Express that way though. And many other email clients. Quote
TCH-JimE Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Not always a good idea to send email in HTML format. I never read any of my mails in HTML format because of the way malicous people can use it. JimE Quote

Can you be a little more specific please. I really appreciate it. Take care, queenpictoria Quote
TCH-Tim Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 One that I see at least once a week if not more is Click here to download a free screensaver!!!1!! - and then when you click it it's a virus. I like to see what a link is pointing to before I click it, else I don't click it. I also don't like HTML mail because they're often not handheld friendly (i.e. Blackberrys and Treos). Quote
Samrc Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 I agree. If an email is plain text with a URL in it to http://www.somewebsite.com, I may choose to use that address/link if it interests me. If however the link says CLICK HERE FOR and I can not see the destination....I dump it! Phishing emails are another good example of the HTML bad guys. They SAY they are going to your bank or Paypal or ebay, etc but in fact they are sending the user to some other hidden destination! Makes you distrust anyone who is not willing to post the address in full view! Quote
