Guest Christodoulos Melis Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 I live in Cyprus and I am trying to register a domain name through your site and get a silver plan. It seems that this service is not working for non US residents is this correct? During the registration I got the Item# 250001-1-1712. Regards Quote
TCH-JimE Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 (edited) Hi, No that is not correct as I too live in the UK. Have you tried restarting your computer, cleaning out the browser history and trying again? Do let us know so we can make you part of the family here! Jim Edited June 2, 2003 by Jimuni Quote
Guest Christodoulos Melis Posted June 3, 2003 Posted June 3, 2003 Jim I am trying on another pc by I am still getting the same message "Unable to complete your purchase. Code 2 - Your credit card was Declined. This could be due to an incorrect expiration date, your billing address or zip does not match your credit card billing address, the card has not yet been activated, or the card is over its limit. " When I entering the billing information is asking for State and zip code as mandatory fields which in my case are not valid. If I leave these fields empty I cannot continue. How can I find where is the problem? Chris Quote
TCH-JimE Posted June 3, 2003 Posted June 3, 2003 Chris, Is this the first screen that your having problems with? You can select non US or if your on the check2out screen, select outside of the US, I believe its the second option down. You can then select cyprus as your home country. let me know if you still have problems! Jim Quote
Guest Christodoulos Melis Posted June 3, 2003 Posted June 3, 2003 Jim I follow the steps 1 though 5. Step 1 is check availability - OK. Step 2 is Length of Registration - I choose 1 year - OK. Step 3 is the contact information. For the State I choose "Not Applicable". - OK Step 4 is hosting options - I choose the TotalHosting as my hosting provider -OK Step 5 - Confirm Registration - OK When I Check out I input the billing info. Here there is no option for non US residents. How do I proceed chris Quote
Lianna Posted June 3, 2003 Posted June 3, 2003 Chris, Sorry these problems are happening. The purchasing system for domain names is separate from the purchasing system for hosting accounts. Jim's steps are correct for a hosting purchase.... By your final post here, you are actually purchasing a domain name, so we'll need to find the steps for making that work. If you can wait, hang out here and we'll get you a resolution. Quote
TCH-JimE Posted June 3, 2003 Posted June 3, 2003 Hi, Aha, my apologies, was galloping down the wrong route. Ok, have you tried on the final screen leaving "select state etc etc" as it is and then put your area of cyprus you live in under "Province" underneath it? You will still need to enter your postcode under the zip/postcode bit Let us know if that works! Jim Quote
TCH-Rob Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 Another thing to try. The domain name registration system used here is picky with orders coming from outside of the USA. Get out your latest statement from the credit card company you are using and type it EXACTLY as it is on the statement. If it reads Road dont use Rd. If it is in ALL CAPS type it in ALL CAPS. I have had it so if I removed the middle initial of the persons name it was all it took to get the transaction to process. If you chose the correct country it should ignore the state. Quote
Guest Christodoulos Melis Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 Thanks to all At the end I managed to registered the new domain name. The next problem is more closed to you. Last night I try to order a hosting plan from TotalHosting. When I pressed the button "Complete Order" I got the next message: "TotalChoice Hosting: Error Domain pentayitisrentals.com already exists on this system " This is the domain name I registered last night from your site. Sometime during the domain name registration I had to answer which ISP I will use and I answered TotalHosting. Is this the reason I am receiving this message now? How do I proceed? Chris Quote
Head Guru Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 I have corrected this issue, you can now at any point setup your hosting account. Sorry for the delay in responding. Thanks Bill Quote
Guest Guest Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 Bill Thanks for the help. Another problem came up. We received to emails with different invoices for the same registration from the 2checkout.com. The invoice numbers are 5996 dated 06/04/2003 and 6006 dated 06/05/2003. The real one is the second. How can we cancel the first one? Be inform that I am doing all this job on behalf of my cousin and I don't want to have any double charges. Chris Quote
Head Guru Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 5996 has been removed from the system as this was attached to the first failed attempt to register. You should be all good to go. Bill Quote
