derekn Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 I have been using boxtrapper for 2 weeks now and I love it. This morning I just logged into webmail and the URL to use boxtrapper is not there anymore. It's also not in webmail anymore as well. Does anyone know what happened to it? Or, where I can find the URL within cpanel or webmail? Thanks, derek Quote
TweezerMan Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Welcome to the forums, Derek! BoxTrapper is being removed from TCH servers and will no longer be available in CPanel due to the excessive load issues it causes. Quote
derekn Posted October 30, 2005 Author Posted October 30, 2005 Welcome to the forums, Derek! BoxTrapper is being removed from TCH servers and will no longer be available in CPanel due to the excessive load issues it causes. Thanks for getting back to me. Damm, that program was effective, I do understand that Boxtrapper can cause load issues. It still seems like it's working because I tried sending an email from an account that wasn't on my white list and I got the verification email back. Quote
TCH-RobertM Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Hello, We are phasing Boxtrapper out on those servers where the loads are being effected by the software. New servers are not having it enabled as we move forward. As effective as this program may have been it does increase the loads on the servers causing issues for many of the users. Quote
derekn Posted October 30, 2005 Author Posted October 30, 2005 Thanks for the welcome... About Boxtrapper, ok I accept that it's not going to be used on the TCH servers. Even though the link is gone, it's still active (I tested it again), when will it be completely disabled? I just want to make sure that I don't have email I actually want going to a black hole. Quote
TCH-Rick Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Please open a Help Desk ticket using the link at the top of this page and we can check it there. Without more information it is impossible to determine what is happening. Quote
derekn Posted October 31, 2005 Author Posted October 31, 2005 OK, I just submitted a help desk ticket. If you want to see the problem yourself, just email me at my domain (derek at navracruz.com) and you will get an email back from Boxtrapper asking for verification of your email address. This is because you are not on my white list. Thanks. Edit: TCH-Bruce changed email address to prevent spam bot harvesting Quote
lbriseid Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 Welcome to the forum, Derek. I have been using this for more than 1 year now and I am definitely NOT happy with this decision !!! I just hope TCH will come up with a similar solution pr products . Otherwise I am not hesitating to change to another provider. Which is pity as I have been quite happy with TCH so far. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 Welcome to the forums lbriseid The reason for the removal was a good one. The program causes high loads on the servers. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 Welcome to the forums lbriseid. Please keep in mind that we do not come up with the products listed in cPanel. We include those options that come with it. In some cases the need to remove one of those presents itself and we are forced to do so. Quote
TomeOne Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Lemmie guess, server 26 is one of the affected servers? It's been getting heavy loads for a little while now, makes getting email a real chore sometimes. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 TomeOne. Open a ticket when you experience an issue like this. It may be another issue. Quote
TomeOne Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 TomeOne. Open a ticket when you experience an issue like this. It may be another issue.Next time it happens I shall. By the way, is it intentional that only the server load shows up in the service status via cPanel? I used to get a list of other services pertaining to my server as well. Quote
