Deverill Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 I got mine today - it's legitimate folks - no tricks, they just ask for an email address. Pretty cool thing to do of them! Quote
djk Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Opera is offering free registration for today only - 12am PDT is when the offer ends. Go here for details. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> nice deal, I've been using Opera since 1997, my Version 8 cost me 15 bucks. I hope those that get the free deal qualify for the update prices down the road. TCH-Don Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Thanks! I did not see any registration codes at first so I hit refresh and there they were Quote
marie b. Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 Yeah, the registration codes can take up to 10 minutes to be emailed. Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Odd I did not get an e-mail but the page I was redirected to after giving my e-mail addy had codes for all the different operating systems. The codes were blank so I hit refresh and there they were Quote
marie b. Posted August 31, 2005 Author Posted August 31, 2005 Ooh, they must've changed it. Earlier this afternoon it was strictly an email thing. Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 I followed the link from my.opera.com/community/party/ You still need to submit an e-mail addy. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 http://my.opera.com/community/party/reg.dml?email= Just add an address to the end of the link Quote
cajunman4life Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 I can't believe I forgot to post this earlier... for those of you using the ad-supported version of Opera, they are giving out free registration codes for their 10th anniversary! To get yours, go here: http://my.opera.com/community/party/reg.dml All you have to do is enter your email address and click submit. This goes for all versions of Opera except the mobile versions (sorry mobile users). Personally I like to keep Opera around to see how my designs look in all browsers. And why not, now you can get the no-ad version free! I don't know how much longer this promotion is going on though, so I'd suggest if you are interested you hurry. Enjoy family! Quote
marie b. Posted August 31, 2005 Author Posted August 31, 2005 (edited) Got there first. Edited August 31, 2005 by marie b. Quote
marie b. Posted August 31, 2005 Author Posted August 31, 2005 Mine came within 10, but I was reading a friend's blog and she had to wait 25. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Don´t know what time it is in the U.S when I write this, but I thought I had missed it, but I hadn´t. I had to reload the page as Don did to get the code. Thanks for letting us know, Marie. Quote
cajunman4life Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Got there first. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ahh, indeed you did. Good job! Quote
abinidi Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 I downloaded Opera (thanks to this thread), but I'm kind of dissappointed to find that it doesn't seem to play well with my Gmail. So I guess I'm not goint to switch from FireFox. I'll just use Opera, as others have said, to make sure my sites work in different browsers. Too bad. Opera has a nice clean interface. Quote
marie b. Posted August 31, 2005 Author Posted August 31, 2005 Yeah, that's really why I downloaded it - not to switch from Firefox, but to use as a reference to make sure my website looks OK across the board. Quote
cajunman4life Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Yea, Opera plays kind-of funny with Gmail. For me, it works fine but the scroll bar is not along the right side (it's a little bit away from the right edge). Other than that I've really noticed no major issues. But I primarily use Opera to test my sites for cross-browser/platform compatibility. Quote
j2k4b Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 I have used Opera for a about two years now. I love it. I bought my registration. Quote
cajunman4life Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Opera is now completely free. No more ads. No more registering! Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 It's already been mentioned earlier today. Quote
