Link Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Hi I am planning to create a e-store but I am not going to ship anything!! maybe some DVD. The main items will be varius video clips that the custumers can watch online and/or download to their PC's. I want to make it a month subscription acces, so the custumers can watch or download for a month and then the next month pay again for different content. Also I would like the feature that if a person is logged in that they can't log in at the same time!!(no simultaneous log ons) If someone can suggest a e-commerce program I will apcreice it very much!!! Also I would like to use Paypal as my main payment method!! Thanks!!! Quote

GroovyFish Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 (edited) I don't know the perfect answer for this, however I believe that Zen-Cart's Download Manager allows you to select the number of days, or number of downloads available per product. I think this is download only, not streaming for a certain number of days/downloads. The problem I see is if they download, what keeps people from sharing (emailing) those videos to others once they have them downloaded. I really don't know if Zen-Cart restricts simultaneous logins or not. I haven't looked at it in a while but check out PlexCart at plexum.com (previously ox-cart). I know that it can do subscriptions and downloadable products, so maybe it can do what you need. It is not a free program. Oh...almost forgot! Welcome to the Forum!! PayPal does subscription payments (including auto-rebilling) and will walk you through the process. All you need is a CGI system that PayPal can send an Instant Payment Notification to that will create a membership (username and password) for the client in your htpaccess which expires with the subscription. The subscription content is stored in folders that are member-access only (and can therefore even be steaming media).
