wampthing Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Does anyone know where I might find a collection of graphics for a website? For example; Financial websites- (People looking at financial statements, a picture of a calculator, Retirees skipping down some tropic beach, etc, etc.) Can you get something like that from a stock photographer for free? Where do professional web developers go to get their graphics? Quote

I've got a collection of images I've had for probably 10 years, all told it's about 45 mb worth. I'd offer them up, but at 45mb a pop, it'd eat a lot of bandwidth.. Quote
GroovyFish Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Check out istockphoto.com. While they are not free, they are just a couple bucks each. If you have a bit more of a budget, try shutterstock.com. You can purchase a month package and download up to 750 images in that month. Quote
TCH-Don Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 local stores have bargin CD's with graphic collections. Quote
owatagal Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 stock.xchange (www.sxc.hu) offers free photos. The quality varies, as does the licensing, but they can be useful. If you have the budget for it, Corbis has great photos (www.corbis.com). Quote

TCH-Bruce Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Check your local Best Buy, CompUSA or Circuit City. They have bargain CDs with clip art and photos. Quote

whoahorse Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 You can find a lot by searching Google Images Weezy Quote
TCH-Don Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Wheezy, be careful, most of the images google shows are from other web sites and may not be for public use. I see my own images and graphics in google Quote
whoahorse Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Yes, I have had some experience with that. I figured that this fellow kinda was up on that issue and might know the difference? Weezy Quote

snipe Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Check your local Best Buy, CompUSA or Circuit City. They have bargain CDs with clip art and photos. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The only problem I have found with that is that the stock photos you find on the bargain bin CD's tend to be pretty lame - same with the stuff available on clipart.com. I have tried to use them a bunch of times, but they are just not high quality enough for a professional site. You might try a low-cost site like BigStockPhoto.Com - http://www.bigstockphoto.com/ Thye quality of their stuff seems to be pretty decent, and the costs are not outrageous. If you have the budget, I would *always* recommend going with Getty Images (www.gettyimages.com) - but they are rather pricey. Quote
