Twisted Posted March 29, 2003 Posted March 29, 2003 I got this on my computer domain and I really like it for a webmail program. I wish we had it here at total choice. Just an idea. Here is an image of what the login screen looks like. The link to it is here
KevinW Posted March 29, 2003 Posted March 29, 2003 Yes, several people have installed Squirrel Mail on their TCH web sites. In fact, the TCH Help Web Site has some information on how to install Squirrel Mail. Click here. -kw
Larry Posted March 29, 2003 Posted March 29, 2003 I've had it on my site for a while now.. It works great. My job blocks anything related to webmail.. they even block SquirrelMail's website (like I can pull email off that site?) I can still get to my email, thier proxy doesnt block it... yet. (if they do ill just change the path )
Twisted Posted March 29, 2003 Author Posted March 29, 2003 kool I didn't know we were allowed to install that ourselves Thanks
darkwoof Posted March 30, 2003 Posted March 30, 2003 I can't seem to run the Conf.pl file... I get an Error 500.
YMe369 Posted March 30, 2003 Posted March 30, 2003 I can't seem to run the Conf.pl file... I get an Error 500. me neither, but i dont get a 500, it says "needs to be run from the commandline", but which commandline??
Larry Posted March 30, 2003 Posted March 30, 2003 i thought conf.pl needed to be run from the command line (ie shell access via ssh)
rayners Posted March 31, 2003 Posted March 31, 2003 You can also setup SquirrelMail manually by editing config/config_default.php and renaming it to config/config.php. The conf.pl script makes it easy, but by no means is it the only way to set things up.
Larry Posted March 31, 2003 Posted March 31, 2003 I think the instructions here could use some updating I dont think doing this here will work: 5. Point your browser to run the configuration script: (www,yoursite.com/squirrelmail-1.4/config/conf.pl)
llama_thumper Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 not fixed... still says to run the config script: http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/id100.htm
KevinW Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 The only thing I fixed on that page was the typo (a comma instead of a period) that Larry had pointed out: www,yoursite.com/... was changed to www.yoursite.com/... If someone has further recommendations for changes to the instruction, please let me know by posting or email! Thanks, kw
Larry Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 I think what he ment, was he thought it was going to be updated on the manual way of editing the config file's, instead of using ssh.. I dont think loading that .pl script in a browser will let you configure it.. that perl script is designed to run from a command prompt.. (correct me if im wrong please)
