rnmcd
I see I can choose from IPB or phpBB but I was wondering if anyone knows if either of these forums allows the Administrator to copy the forum structure and permissions from one of the other forums in their board to a new forum? Can we install vBulletin? Thanks!
LisaJill
You can install any scripts that you want to; as long as they fall within the AUP and are not banned scripts, of course.. I'm not sure about that particular feature in those two forums, though. Edited August 9, 2004 by TCH-Lisa
borfast
Both phpBB and Invision Power Board have converters available for many other forums, meaning you can migrate from other forums to one of those two without (many) problems For phpBB converters, check here: http://phpbb.com/downloads.php#converters For IPB converters, check here: http://invisionboard.com/?conversion

TCH-JimE
Hello, After trying all of them, phpBB is my favourtite. There is better support from both the original developers and many fanatics aside, hundreds of mods and templates and the actually coding is pretty easy to understand. With phpBB 2.2 nearing completion it sure to strengthern there product. Jimuni
rnmcd
Thanks for the information. I learn something every day...I did not know that the version of the scripts was dependent on the version of cPanel but it does make sense. Has anyone hear of an upcoming cPanel upgrade possibility or when phpBB 2.2 will come out? I can't seem to find any information on their site. MikeJ
does anyone happen to know of any websites that use vBulletin Board that are hosted by TotalChoiceHosting? I have a vB board, but it's on a dedicated server. I don't see any reason it wouldn't work well on a shared account however.
rnmcd
Do you happen to know which version of phpBB is available through TCH?
TCH-Bruce
The last time I installed from cPanel it was 2.0.6 TCH-MikeJ confirms it is 2.0.8a You could download 2.0.10 from the phpBB website and install it here as well.
