For those who might use AceFTP freeware or if TCH wants to do a How-to for different programs, the procedure is this: 1) Go to Site Properties within AceFTP 3 2) Click on the FOLDERS section 3) Uncheck "Use property class default value" box 4) Check radio button below "Use custom value" 5) Select the "-latr" option from the scrolldown menu below

I am very unsusre about what i am about to say (so wait to a better tech person answers) but doesnt resolution (1280 x 1024) have more with what the graphics card can handle than cpu?

In Windows ME and so on there was a option in, Control Panel > Add/Remove, where I could repair I.E, but i see nothing like it in XP´s control panel. Is there an option for it somewhere? Lately my I.E shows the box "Internet Explorer has (whatever this part is in english) and needs to close" pretty often, and a repair often did the trick in ME.

You could also download and install G-spot. This program will tell you 1) what codec is needed and 2) which program that can play it (if the codec is installed).

I see you have problems with avi files. So do i often (ok, very often). Im no guru in file formats but avi files are usually divx stuff these days. If you go here you can hopefully find a solution. It has helped me many times.

Ok, thanks scotttyz. I think i understand all that. Will have a closer look at it tomorrow when im more awake. Its soon midnight here, so im off to sleep.
-
First, Thanks scotttyz I went through those pages and there was 100´s scripts, most didnt do what i wanted. But i started to play around with one of them and found out that ><?php include("test.txt"); ?> will do what i want, if i skip formatting. I just recently started to play around with php, and my knowledge so far is as near to zero as it can be. The formatting part is not needed for now, Jessica will just have to live that she only will be updating the body texts.

Im not sure either what HC means but i think he means as if you published a new site, from scratch that is. -

So in other words i can delete it and sleep safer knowing no one can peek in to my ftp without my knowledge?
-
Have you tried opening a support ticket to help desk? Links on top of page.
-
Is there supposed to be a "anonymous@server.com" in my "manage ftp" in cpanel?
-
I just saw that the guy got it sold for $3850000 (Three million Eighthundred and Fifty thousand). Hm, maybe i should clean the basement tonight.

I am trying to figure out a way that would make Jessica (Marve) able to update atleast parts of her site by herself. A few days ago i found this script on a php site ><? $filen = file('namnsdag.txt'); echo "".$filen[date('z')+1]; ?> What it does is that it updates one line on her site every midnight. Now what i would like to do is to place this or something similar on other places on the site so that Jessica can just upload a text file and the text in that will show up on site, but not that it changes or disappear each midnight. I know another way to do this (with a js-file) thanks to TCH-Don but it would require Jessica to insert and things like that, which she would hate to learn . I tried to insert the above code with another txt.file it could refer to, but nope it didnt work.

Ah ok, here in Sweden a administrator do paper work, so i was a little worried. Congrats again
-
They haven´t.

Sasser is out in 2 versions. Read more here and here.
-
Not sure about this, so i can only refer to what swedish pc magazines answers when their readers ask... Since no isp etc have a reporting obligation to a "authority" about their surfers habits etc there is no statistics. What we hear or read from those companies that do "estimations" (sorry, dont know the eng word for it) is mostly just estimations. So i think the only way is to rely on sites counters etc.

Good news I tried a combination with the code that runninghorse posted and ><STYLE> <!-- a:hover {color: #FFFFFF} U {text-decoration: none} --> </STYLE> I am not sure if both are needed but right now it seems to be what CSB needs to not show underlines in either I.E or mozilla. I inserted it on another site (i was working on this one when posting). It is only inserted in right frame for now if you wanna look. Thanks to everyone involved.
-
Thanks for the offer Kasey. If you wanna have a look, a good example is my site. However there is no css-files/urls for me to publish. CSB is a WYSIWYG-program in which i can insert scripts like above but it does not contain any "outside" css files (in lack of words).
