Welcome to the forum, Morgan. You mention both PHP-Nuke and PHP-Admin, which confuses me. Do you have a PHP-Nuke installation? If you don´t want to integrate Lazarus into a PHP-Nuke installation, the installation of Lazarus should be simple: 1. Open the configuration file 'config.inc.php' with a text editor and set up your MySQL database settings. 2. Upload the guestbook to your website. 3. Run the install script http://www.******/lazarusgb/install.php and follow the instructions. 4. Give write permissions to certain directories (see more in the "How to install" in the lazarus folder). 5. 5. The default account is: Username : (mentioned in the "How to install" in the lazarus folder) Password : (mentioned in the "How to install" in the lazarus folder). But you can specify different ones in the install process. 6. Delete the install.php file. PHP-Admin is a whole other thing that you do not need to change/add anything manually while installing Lazarus.

Do I have to watch out for themes that make it clear that they're "widget-friendly"? While you can certainly use a non-widget ready theme, a widget ready theme are more easy to use. Lets take a menu for latest posts for example, the difference is basically that in a non widget theme you need to place some php code in to special file in your theme to make this menu show up in your blog. With a widget ready theme you just go in to your wp admin > design > widgets and tell it where you want it to show up. Much more easier. How strict is TCH on using plug-ins?? If the plugin is server intensive, you might get in to a problem, but if the all plugins you use play nice with the server and are secure you will have no problem. How easy, hard is it to modify headers, footers, etc in WP themes? I'm praying they're WYSIWYG-friendly. Are they?? If you know a little css you will have no problem with this either. If you use Firefox, you can install an extension called Web Developer Toolbar (chrispederick.com/work/web-developer/). With this toolbar you can mark the header for example and it will show you where in the css to modify things for your header. Do your changes right in your browser, save it to your computer and upload it to the folder which contains the css file to overwrite it. Don´t forget to always have the themes original css file stored on your computer if something goes wrong. Also, I'm thinking of creating another site (domain name already purchased). In the meantime, it's not hosted somewhere. What do I do with this domain name? Leave it parked at GoDaddy? Can I "park" it as a subdomain on my 1st site? Is that recommended?? I understand that I'll have to purchase another hosting package when I'm ready to do something with it - so what do I do with it in the meantime?? You can not park it as a subdomain since it would be against the rules. I would either have it parked where it is now or put it on top at the other domain until 2nd package is purchased. If you decide to park it on top of the other in the meantime, just point the nameservers to the same nameservers as domain #1. Then when you are ready to purchase a second hosting package, just submit a ticket with the helpdesk and tell them you want to use domain #2 for the second package.

I am wanting use a blog and a CMS on my site. From what you said, it seems that Joomla AND Wordpress can do both. Right?? Yes, with the use of plugins and some work it would work as I understood when reading about it. If I do use Fantasico to download WordPress or Joomla - is there a way to update them through Fantastico later? Does Total Choice update them often, or at all?? You don´t need to download anything, the installation package are already on the server. You just log in to your cpanel, then click on the Fantastico link and choose what you want to install. Basically you will be asked a few questions, for example which folder in your account you want to set up the script in and your choice of user name and password to be able to log in to the scripts admin part, those sorts of questions, then you click finish and you got a Wordpress blog or a Joomla CMS. The whole installation is through a guide so to speak. The same goes for updating them. The age of the installation/upgrade packages are not anything TCH control. It´s up to some other guys when they release the new versions. This is the reason to manually install/upgrade. Can I download WordPress and Joomla on the same domain and play with them?? Yes, just keep them in separate folders.

Hi Shelle, I need to know what kind of support, install, updates, etc, Total Choice has for these systems. I did a search on the FAQ's and it sounds like WorkPress is FTP'ed and I got confused on Joomla. Can someone clarify for me? Also, what is Fantastico?? Although installing anything manually are the preferred way, TCH has Fantastico (accessible through the cpanel) on the servers, which is basically several script packages with easy installs (2 or 3 clicks and you are ready to go). Both Joomla and Wordpress are available through Fantastico. Why installing things the manual way are preferred are simply because that sometimes the Fantastico installation/upgrade packages are not always the latest ones which mean you might have a vulnerable version of lets say Wordpress installed if you used Fantastico to install. Installing wordpress the manual way are an easy installation that only takes 5-10 minutes. Installing Joomla manually can be a bit more tricky. Either you go the manual way or the Fantastico way, we are here to help you if you run into any problems. Does anyone have any thoughts, recommendations on Joomla vs. WordPress? Also, are there any other CMS open source systems out there with WYSIWYG platforms that you can recommend?? I´ve used both earlier and still use Wordpress. Wordpress is more of a blog although you can get it to be a CMS if you want with several plugins. I have not used any CMS plugins so I don´t know how that works. Joomla is a CMS from start but you can on the other hand use that as a blog as well. I would if you decide to go with TCH again set up both Wordpress and Joomla through Fantastico and see which one that suits your needs best.

1. I haven´t been following the crisis that much since most swedish newspapers are using financial words that a non financial person would know what they mean. 2. I don´t know if the banks etc that are involved in this crisis have bosses that make huge salaries and gets huge bonuses, but they do here in Sweden (bosses makes several millions a year and the worker makes between 150K and 200K). Get rid of those huge salaries and bonuses as a start and the workers might have more understanding about the situation...then do as Bruce say.
