As far as I can tell the flat file does not need to access a database where the MySQL version does. Easy for you may be different for me. I would use the MySQL version, the flat file has more text files I think because of the lack of a database. I would get the zip version of either though and PHP over PERL but that is because I feel comfortable working with PHP.

Here is what I did and it worked. First install your bb in ******/folder, naming the folder what you want the subdomain to be. Then create the subdomain. I just did this and when I go to sub.**** it works.

Well, your AWStats will give you the most popular files requested and where those links are comming from and you could probably download and filter your logs to show you as well.

This has been discussed several times in the forums, a quick search of the forms and you can see this. On a shared server you are limited to your choices as you have neighbors that are on the same server as you. You do have a choice to get a resellers plan or a dedicated server. A part of total choice you seem to be missing as the choice to not host here as well. Don't get me wrong, I would like to see you here but this is value hosting we are talking about and some rules have to be set. This happens to be one of those rules, if we let you point a domain at it then what keeps you from selling that space to others? There are reasons behind it.
