  1. Why not just create a password protected directory for each project? Bompa <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks
  2. Ok, I guess I am looking for something along the lines of collaboration or project management. Does anyone know anything about, eGroupWare phpGroupware WebCollab My next question is, Can/will TCH host them?
  3. I don't think they want to go with a project management program. Just something where the customer can see where things are today and look back in history. Just notes, comments and pic's.
  4. Now that you mention it, I did change permitions on a file, but it wasn't .htaccess. Or does it not matter which file is changed?
  5. I just found out that the manufacturing company that I work for is considering expanding it's web presence and it's customer relations by offering our customers a way to check on their projects via the web. Since I went and opened my mouth I get to do some leg work. What I am looking for is a way for our customers to log in and be restricted to just what pertains to their project and nothing else. The information that will need to be available are current/realtime photos and project manager, engineering and sales notes that will be generated through the life of the project. I know just enough about what is available to make a bad decision. I've seen Mambo but I don't know much about it. What are your recommendations and why? Thank you in advance for your input.
  6. What led to that conclusion if I may ask? I have never installed WP and had it touch my .htaccess file. And I've installed it several times on several servers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> At one point during our pm'ing Rob asked what was in the .htaccess. Here is a partial to that response This file was created on advice from the serendipity forums so that a visitor could go to *.com instead of *.com/serendipity. After installation my friend decided that she did not like it and asked for other options. I removed serendipity and installed WP. Since this file was not in /public_html/ I did not get it removed prior to installing WP. As for the other 2 .htaccess files, they were put there by the WP install. Here is the rest of my responce to Rob's question above The only thing that I did that deviated from a default install was create the .htaccess file for serendipity and place it in /. The reason that I say that the other 2 files were put there by WP is because I removed all files from /public_html/ that had the same date as the serendipity installation. Dangerous and careless? On hind site, most likely. As for the FrontPage extentions, they were not installed by me.
  7. Look now. It was this line in your htaccess, IndexIgnore .htaccess */.??* *~ *# */HEADER* */README* */_vti* Once again the folks here at TCH rock. Thank you Rob for your help and fyi the entry quoted was created by the WP install (of course you probably know that). To everyone else here at TCH, I apologize for the cryptic nature of this topic but Rob and I have been pm'ing on a problem that I perceived as a security risk. With unrestricted access to the installation files and folders I did not want to run the risk of having the site jacked. Could it have been jacked? I don't know. And Rob
  8. Thanks Rob, pm has been sent.
  9. I'm trying to install and set up wp 1.5.1.2 for a friend and I have a major problem. The install went with out a hitch but when I log in all I get is a directory tree listing all files and folders, and all I get is a tree when I got to domain.com. Since there is unrestricted access to the wp installation I would rather not show the site address in the clear (sorry guys, trust only goes so far), so if a member of TCH could get back to me I would appreciate it.
  10. As an MT user I would like to know the answer to this also and TCHDavid will most likely be the one to answer. I set up my site with MT 3.15 back in Jan and I think that 3.16 was released in March or April and 3.17 was released June 2.
  11. Got it. The problem was with the extention "Redirect Remover". Thanks for your help.
  12. Any link highlited that is yahoo related is dead. The links that will take me outside of yahoo work. I did install 1.0.4 over 1.0.3 and I've been thinking about reinstalling, I just haven't done it yet. I'm not where I can upload a screen shot but I hope the attachment made it.
  13. I have yahoo set up as a start page on one of my pc's and ever since I installed Firefox 1.0.4 some of the yahoo tools links are dead. The reason I believe that it is Firefox is because I still have IE and everything still works through it and through other machines that I still have Firefox 1.0.3 on. Has anyone else had/have similar problems?
  14. I might be interested in trading tornado alley for snow and cold.
  15. I've been snooping around opensourcecms this evening and came accross a blog system called Serendipity and was woundering if anyone here knew anything about it.
  16. I saw the original 3 in theaters when they were released and thought they were great. I wasted my time in line for the 4th one I waited for 5 to come out on DVD. I was so un impressed that I can't tell you what 4 and 5 are called. As for 6, well ................
  17. Ok, I'll bite. What's happening Sep 30?
  18. Worse. I have been using a bookmark setup with the site name that is now parked. Can't try it now but I bet that is it.
  19. Here lately whenver I go make a post or do anything else in MT3.15 I am kicked back to my log in page when I save or rebuild. Granted I have yet to upgrade to v3.16 but that shouldn't make any difference. Should it? Is anyone else having this problem?
  20. I have subscribet to a couple of formus here and get email digests daily. Today I've been hit with 511. Whats up?
  21. What did I get started?
  22. Missed the post, my bad.
  23. Just read this at eWeek.com. As a rule I don't panic when I hear "vulnerability", but coming from eWeek concerning Firefox, one never knows, does one?
  24. 7 days 2 yrs ago when a contractor cut into an OCx bundle between Dallas and Abilene. I was going nuts by day 2. But I'm doing much better now.
  25. I don't know if this is still true or not but, back in the day when I was still runing dial-up , I used NetZero and the free version of ZoneAlarm and Level3 would not let me have access to the internet unless I, not just disabled but, uninstalled ZoneAlarm.
