Ok, I admit that I'm not the brightest lightbulb in the box but what I'm trying to do can't be all that difficult. I want to "Roll-Your-Own RSS News Feed" on my yahoo and to do this the folks at yahoo say to When I do this I don't get the "Add-to My Yahoo!" button for my site. I tried it with a couple of other sites and got the "Add-to My Yahoo!" button. However Firefox finds the feeds for my site so I know that they are active. I'm running MoveableType 3.x and the RSS and Atom templets are there and are rebuilt each time I rebuild my site. What am I missing?

Also, in the banner area the coloring does not show up in IE.

I don't know how long this has been a problem, for I don't use IE. Recently I made some changes to my site and IE does not like them. All I did (I hope) is resize the entire container, center content and right column area and change the color scheme but now IE is treating some of my links as text instead of as a link. Does anyone have an idea as to way and know how to fix the problem?

I currently have starter plan, I have 2 other domains that I would like to park and then eventualy move one of the parked to the primary and the current primary to a parked. What plan do I need to upgrade to and is it possible to move a parked domain to the primary and the current primary to a parked domain?

I've been woundering this myself. When I log in the only welcome I get is to my domain name.

Here is my work area. Actually I don't "work", I have fun here.

I run XP Pro SP1 and Firefox 1.01 on one box and XP Pro SP2 with Firefox 1.0 on another and have no problem with the banner coming up (along with IE 6.X on both boxs). However my son is still running 98SE with Firefox 0.8 and had to refresh to display the banner. I don't run the XP firewall nor the MS anti-spyware pgm, but I am behind a Linksys router and am running Norton and ZoneAlarm Pro on both PC's. Does anyone else have a problem with loading the banner?

I'm needing some help and I'm hoping someone here can provide it. My site is not very aestheticly pleasing and I would like to add a graphic to the banner. Idealy I would like to replace the entire banner with a graphic. Failing that a smaller one off to the side will suffice. Most of yesterday was spent trying to insert the pic and I learned alot about where it won't go. After a successful up load and MovableType generating the html necessary to imbed the pic, I tried verious spots here on my index page - <div id="container"> <div id="banner"> <h1><a href="<$MTBlogURL$>" accesskey="1"><$MTBlogName encode_html="1"$></a> </h1> <h2><$MTBlogDescription$></h2> </div> I did get it to show up, but everything was messed up. And obviously it was only on my index page. I also tried inserting it in my stylesheet here - #banner-img { display: xxxx; } and nothing at all showed up. So, my question is, how do I manipulate the banner in MovableType?

I am by no means an expert, but I just installed MT and was having trouble and made several posts here that you may want to look at, if you haven't already. However there is one post that I made when I was having a very bad day that we won't talk about. But I'm doing much better now.

As you have probably figured out, I am a complete newb at this. I have index.html, rdf and xml in /public_html/ and in /public_html/mt/. I don't remember copying them out of /mt/ but obviously I did. After renaming them, I figured out that I am not using the ones located in /mt/. As for the umask settings, beats me. However I did comment them out. Movable Type 3 Bible Desktop Edition is on it's way. I already have Essential Blogging from O'reilly and in it I'm told that I have to create a new template for each catagory. So, can you guess what my next learning experience is going to be? My thanks to all.

I have an archives.html located in /public_html/ with a permission of 644. And I have an archives folder (directory) located in /public_html/mt/, and my index files are located in /public_html/mt/. Do I need to change the locations or permissions?

Well that did make a differnce. Now I get: The requested page could not be found. Smarty error: the $compile_dir '/home/demesne/public_html/templates_c' does not exist, or is not a directory. Uncommenting TemplatePath did not solve this either.

My archive isn't working so I must have something set wrong, but I can't find it so I need your help once again. I just recently installed MT and the way that I did it was to upload the movabletype tar.gz and extract to the server. My problem was/is configuring mt.cfg, and you must set permissions on all cgi to 755.

I uploaded to the server before unpacking the tarball and made all of my config changes there. When I was finaly able to run mt-check.cgi and mt-load.cgi, everything showed good to go. I did the 14 steps you mentioned but when I rebuild I return to my admin main page and when I view my site all I get is my index page and I have cleared my cache on the 3 pc that I have access to at two different physical locations.

I have told it to rebuild all files several times.

Well actually, I can log in and do the admin thing, but when I view my site, demesneofallen.com, I only get my index page. Any ideas? A
