  1. Thank you!
  2. I received an very quick response from Support. They told me my IP was blocked . Do I have a right to know why?
  3. Is a "tracert" something support does or do I do that somehow? Also, why doesn't server 115 show up on http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/i...p?showforum=115 ?
  4. I am on server 115 and haven't been able to get to my site today. I eventually tried to check my server status at: http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/i...p?showforum=115 but I don't see a server 115 listed. Should I post a Support Ticket?
  5. You are correct. My problem was user error. I thought by backing out of a directory and going back into would do the same thing as a "refresh" ...apparently it doesn't; at least not in SmartFTP.
  6. Ok. I understand...I think. I generated the full cpanel backup like Bruce suggested. I received the email stating the backup was completed. But I don't see an 'archive' file in my FTP directory to download.
  7. Oops, sorry. I missed Bruce's reply--I didn't get an email notification of his reply so I just started typing away. What could be causing the public_html folder that I transferred to my PC not to 'point' to the same files as the "www" folder?
  8. The files in "www" are not copies of the "public_htm" files, are they? Does one folder link/shortcut to the other folder? I'm just trying to figure out why my public)_html folder is empty but my www folder appears to have all of the expected files.
  9. What I did was a <Shift> and selected all top-level folders for my domain and transferred them to a folder I had created on my PC. It looks like every other folder transfered just fine. Whoa. Stop the presses. As I was typing this I decided to go through the folders that DID transfer. The public_html and public_ftp folders are empty but the www folder has all the files in it. What do you make of that? Aren't the public_html, public_ftp, and www folders basically the same thing?
  10. Before my original post I had tried to FTP my entire site (it is very small) to my PC. It looked like everything was getting transferred over to my PC but after the transfer was complete there was a public_html folder but it didn't contain any files--there are public_html files on the server though. All the other folders have files and I'm sure that I saw public_html files being transferred. I tried it a second time and still no public_html files on my PC. Hmm.
  11. I wonder why you can't just 'transfer' folders from the server to your PC? Is this a limitation to ftp'ing or to SmartFTP?
  12. Is it possible to backup your entire site via FTP? I use SmartFTP and can't seem to figure out how to download my entire site to my PC with SmartFTP?
  13. You can submit bid requests for graphics work on rentacoder too.
  14. Will TCH move one of my accounts to a server that has a Php ver. 4.4.1 installed on it? Some of my accounts are on a server with Php 4.4.1.
  15. I'm trying to find files on my hard drive that contain specific text. I know the text exists but the: 'Search > Files and Folders' feature on WinXP doesn't find the files. There must be a program that does this effectively.
  16. I need to search through all of the folders and files in a directory to find all the files that contain specific text. What is the best way to do that? It would be nice to be able to choose which directory I want to search then all of the files in the subfolders that contain the text would somehow display so I could edit them. Any suggestions?
  17. Here is the "Export" from the table I want to copy from (I didn't "save as file": Do I just copy and paste this into the table that I want to copied to?
  18. I should have mentioned that the table already exists in the database I want to copy into. Will the "Insert" into the new database ask me if I want to overwrite the existing file or will it just overwrite without asking? Also, when exporting do I enable/check "Save as file"? Or do I just copy/paste from the first to the second table?
  19. I want to copy one Db table to another Db on a DIFFERENT website. Both sites are mine and hosted on TCH. How do I go about doing this? thanks.
  20. Hmm. I'm seeing a LATER version: 4.4.1
  21. I am just curious as to why there are different versions of PHP based upon server. I would have thought that TCH would put the same version on each server.
  22. I noticed that on one of my TCH accounts that the PHP version was older than on one of my other TCH accounts. I contacted TCH Help Desk to ask them if the PHP version could be updated. They replied that they could not upgrade it because it would cause incompatibility issues on the server. What happens when software that I am running (like vBulletin) requires the newer PHP version? Seems like they (TCH) would be more open to being able to update versions of server-side programs like PHP. Any opinions?
  23. But what skin version do I tell them that I want? Both cPanels show the same version number but they appear visually different (different layouts).
  24. I just ordered my 4th hosting package with TCH and I noticed that the cPanel theme for the new site is "cPanel X v2.5.0". That is also the 'theme' version as another of my cPanels. The thing is that the look/layout for cPanel, on the new site, is less preferred by me. How can I get my cPanel interfaces to look the same?
  25. It looks like everything on my forum is back to the way it was before the migration...whew. Here is a reply from the Help Desk. Where in cPanel can I see the database backup that they are talking about and where would they have backed it up to? I can't seem to find this info in cPanel. Thanks.
