Does anyone know if it possible to open Picasa2 without it importing all the images on your PC? I only want it to import images from a specific folder.

I was confusing Picasa's "Web Album" feature with what you are doing. How do you 'tag' images?

I'll have to check into this too. Coincidentally, Picasa came with the USB drive I just purchased. I should have mentioned that I will be using public computers to do the uploading of the photos. Do you know if Picasa can be operated from a thumb drive?

I am taking a trip and I would like to be able to quickly upload photos to my website so family and friends could view them (in some organized manner. I realize I could ftp the photos to a directory on my website but I was wondering if there might be some script that might be more end-user friendly (it would be nice if the photos would display as thumbnails). The file is 1.3 MB. Is that considered 'too large'?

I changed permissions of dbsender folder to 770, as specified in the TCH guide. Would I need to change permissions of the file itself? It is presently: 644 Also, the instructions that came with dbsender says: Would it have been better for me to CHOWN the directory instead of CHMOD it to writable? Thanksl.

I realize you said to follow steps 4-12 but I couldn't help but read steps 1-3 and I was wondering if I was supposed to change permissions of the dbsender folder/file?

I believe I have made the proper entries in the .php file and uploaded it. Now, do I need to set up a cron job via cPanel or do I contact TCH support as the following quote seems to say?

If the script is asking: and I have put the file directly in the ftp.sitename.com directory. What would my path be?

Thanks for helping. Is the location you mentioned above the place to put the script so that it is not accessible to others or is that where it needs to be to function/run properly? Just curious about that.

I am working on installing dbsender but there are some things I don't understand. The dbsender instructions say: What is "shell"? Also, how do I chown the directory this script resides in to the same user or group your webserver runs in. Which directory do you recommend I put this?

I realize this thread is a year old but I wanted to ask if there have been any 'advancements' in the last year or is using dbsender still the recommended method to backup a MySQL database? Thanks.

When a site gets suspended, are the account holders allowed to FTP to their site so they can download the files/database or are they locked out permanently? Is running an IRC webchat on a forum (I'm not referring to running an IRC server) against the AUP? When I refer to an IRC webchat I am speaking of a Java applet that connects to an IRC server. Not MY(TCH) IRC server. It's one of the many public IRC servers out there like Sorcery that I've registered a channel on and point the webchat to it.

Who should I direct my question to for a definitive answer? I do believe TCH-Bruce does believe it would be acceptable but there is the 1% chance he might be wrong. Is there a way to see if my site is eating up resources prior to it being suspended?

I am giving some thought to adding a Shout Box or an IRC to my site? All other things being equal (e.g., number of users, number/length of messages), does a Shout Box use more or less resources than an IRC? Does the TCH staff know of any TCH hosted sites (besides TCH itself) that is using a Shout Box or an IRC? You don't have to disclose the URLs. The reason I ask about TCH sites using a Shout Box or an IRC is I am wondering if these programs use too much of the TCH servers CPU resources. Thank you.

Do you think I might want to create ticket for this or has support already looked at this thread? The reason I didn't start a ticket immediately is that I thought someone in the forums might know the answer and then other TCH users would be able learn from it too.
