  1. I just got a reply from Tech Support. They told me they could upload all the data from the old server and this will take care of my problem. Does that mean that during the migration all new posts on my messageboard were saved on the old server?
  2. Server 85. But my cpanel no longer shows the server number. It was visible prior to the migration. We weren't supposed to NOT use our websites during the migration were we?
  3. Any idea what could have happened to posts that were made today, on my messageboard, that have disappearaed? I am the only person with Admin rights to delete posts. I know they were posted today because I made some of them but they are gone now.
  4. I have 3 virtual hosting accounts, each are fully paid for one year, with TCH. I am considering switching to a reseller account instead of adding another virtual hosting acccount. Can I apply the credit I have for my Virtual Hosting Accounts toward a Reseller Account?
  5. Would there be a way to get each and every person that visits any page on phantom309drivers.org to have to visit another page on your site first? What I would like to ultimately do is make everyone that goes to any page on my site be required to view a "site info" page that tells of important site changes. It would be great if I could set a cookie or something that doesn't take/redirect them through this "site info" page more than once every 24 hours. Upon looking at your redirect I notice that it is different than what I am trying to achieve. I want, for example, users that click on a page like your http://phantom309drivers.org/modules.php?name=Guestbook to be automatically redirected through http://www.phantom309drivers.org/guestbook/ first. This is probably much more complicated than I anticipated.
  6. Is cpanel the only way to upload files that were backed up via cpanel options or can the folders/files be uploaded via ftp? Edit: TCH-Bruce - moved post title to post and created new title. Please don't enter your full question for the post title. Thanks.
  7. Nice. Out of curiousity, why doesn't it do the redirect when I initially visit: http://www.phantom309drivers.org/games/
  8. JTD, that code isn't javascript-enabled browser dependent, right?
  9. "Wow" and thank you! I was incorrectly assuming that it would be much more involved.
  10. I'm not sure which forum this question belongs...sorry. Is there a way to 'force' everyone that visits your site to go to a specified page (such as the index page) even if they have a different page bookmarked?
  11. I'm quite surprised that there weren't more votes for vBulletin or any votes for Fuse Talk. I like Fuse Talk from the user standpoint (I've never been an Admin on a Fuse Talk site though). vBulletin has great customer support.
  12. Thanks for all of the replies. I had come across an FTPing program (client) that also had a download for their FTP Server program and I wasn't quite sure what they were talking about...now I know!
  13. I understand what an FTP Client is but what is an FTP SERVER? How is it any different than any other server? Thanks.
  14. I got reprimanded for making too lengthy Topic Titles so I don't know what an appropriate length is--feel free to shorten this Topic Title if necessary. My lack of knowledge causes these unruly titles I have vbulletin running on my website but some of the users say that they are not getting notifications of replies in threads they have subscribed to. I contaced vBulletin Support and they said I would need to access the server's mail logs. Is it possible for a user (such as myself) to do that? Thanks.
  15. I found a site that does basically what I'm looking for: LINK REMOVED!!! DON'T LINK TO OTHER WEBHOSTS IN THIS FORUM At the above site, a user enters a username which in turn becomes a webpage. So it is possible...any idea how they accomplished this? Thanks.
  16. No but thanks for replying.
  17. Reading this post should afford the majority of the folks here a great deal of entertainment since I don't know enough to ask my question properly. Here's the scenario: On a website that generates a new page and a long URL from a user-action (for example, when a new auction is created on ebay you get a long URL like: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...xxxxxxxxxxxxxx'>http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...xxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Is there a way to create a user-completed form on the website whereas the text entered into that form could rewrite the URL? In other words, the user-entered text would create a new, shorter URL such as http://cgi.ebay.com/textbyuser. I'm just wondering if this is even possible. If you happen to know of websites that do this please post the URL. I really think I saw it somewere a while back but I can't recall the domain(s). Thank you.
  18. I was wondering if there was something in cPanel or in the Server status/info, that I might have missed, that told the server time. How do I run the php script that your described above? Thanks.
  19. I have several sites hosted on TCH. Is there another way besides running the above script to determine the server time? I think one of my servers must be overseas because when I upload a file to the server it displays the file time as 6 or so hours later and I'm in the Central U.S. Time zone. Thanks. By the way, I use SmartFTP. I have it set so that it will "Keep File Time". I'm not sure how it is supposed to work but it only keeps the file time when I bring a file from the server down to my desktop. If I transfer a file to the server it takes the server time. Is that the way it should work? It would be nice if I could have all the file times be the same.
  20. What a coincidence. I had sent a help ticket before reading your last reply and I I did ask them if they could tell me why it was down (if it was). They wouldn't answer with anything more than, "rest assured the cron daemon for your and all TCH servers will be running." 5 minutes later my cron job email arrived. Oh well. Kind of disappointing that they wouldn't give me anymore information.
  21. So the cron daemon status can only be determined by tech support? Or can I check for myself if I know my server number?
  22. I also took the "> /dev/null" out of the cron command. I did not receive any emails regarding the output. Does that mean the cron ran without problems or that it didn't run? The expire.php works when I navigate to runcron.php manually.
  23. Hello. The runcron.php file worked for awhile. I just noticed that it was no longer working. Is there a way to see if the cron job that executes runcron.php is working properly? Is there anything on the server side that may not be running cron jobs? By the way, the expire.php script does work when I run it manually by browsing to the expire.php page. Thanks.
  24. Do some sites function differently with AOL? I have a dynamic drop-down menu that doesn't work at all with the AOL browser.
  25. I've been looking for the statistics but I can't seem to find any. I have a website that runs fine in IE and Firefox. Then I looked at it on a PC that used the AOL browser and lots of the site's functions didn't function! As a matter of fact, when I used IE as the browser to look at my website, the site still didn't work if I was connected through AOL (as the ISP). Weird.
