Actually I just went in and looked via the Control Panel's File Manager system and that shows the OLD file. I tried the upload again... > put index.php index.php: 3.96 kB 99.75 B/s Reload the page and it's the OLD file. Check in File Manager and it's the OLD file. This is weird.

Sometimes when I'm making updates to pages there are times when it seems like the web server does not want to show me the updated version of my page. I can clear my browser cache, or even use a different browser completely, and it's still the old version of my page. After a little while the updated version will start to work again. Why is this? Anyone else experience this?
-
Yeah, I know it's not guaranteed. But I would feel better knowing that there's an online registrar service watching for me. They can probably punch in a registration faster than me getting an update from my script and registering manually. Thanks.

It appears that TCH does domain backorders, too.
-
There are a couple of domain names that I want that have expired and are waiting for the timeout period with the Central Registry. What's the best (preferrably fastest) way to backorder a domain? I know GoDaddy has their DomainAlert Pro, but is there any better options? SnapNames? They're $ but have a nice partnership deal, but the Registrar in question of the domains I'm watching is not one of the SnapNames partners. Curious of any others that I might check out? Anyone have experiences?

Do any of these payment gateways have the ability to handle the shopping cart and/or SSL checkout process along with the taking care of the funds? I can code up the necessary pages to display my items, but it would be cool if I could handoff the cart and the checkout processing to someone else. Exactly how Paypal works, but without having to require the customer to sign-up with Paypal, and preferrably something cheaper than their 2.9% per sale. I know there are dozens of shopping cart packages out there, but I am trying to steer away from dealing with the SSL hosting, etc, and just outsource the cart and checkout to a payment gateway.

I know she's the legal registrant, but I wonder if there's any legal recourse in cases like this due to the way that the web developer came into the domain? It's not like a domain name at random that someone wants, it was her job to register a domain and build a domain for the site. She sounds negligent, but not sure if it holds up in court.

Are you using a TLD that may not be supported by all Registrars?
-
Kinda weird when you consider most interesting content is dynamic in nature.

I installed the Agora shopping cart to play around with it. Now I'm done and would like to remove it, but how? The Cpanel does not provide a "delete" option. Cpanel seems to keep track of its existance beyond just knowing that a directory is there, so I don't just want to delete the files.

I'm curious about web-based trouble ticket systems. I do not have the time to write one, so I'm curious if there are any decent OSS versions available to try?
-
Started out with Pine, moved to Kmail, and now onto Thunderbird. Used a little bit of Eudora and Pegasus in the middle, neither stuck out as great packages to me. I'm required to use Outlook at work.

I have never tried Neo or Horge because Squirrel works great.
-
Mgmt is already asking for the Exchange quote. So my open source solution may be going away!
-
Mgmt wants an SSO network (single sign-on). I setup my Courier MTA to auth against LDAP, so its working with our ActiveDirectory server. That is only 1/2 the job, unfortunately. I need a webmail frontend that will either work with Kerberos tickets or Microsoft's SPA. Either one of these will allow me to have our IE users able to login without having to input their login credentials each time (from their domain PCs). Running Squirrelmail right now, but it does not have support for either feature. I am having a hard time trying to find good alternatives that I can review feature sets from. Suggestions?

I get nervous doing manual updates to automated software installs. If I do a manual update to a newer version, is an updated cPanel in the future going to recognize my updated version? So, for example, a newer cPanel with 2.0.14 would not break my 2.0.15 installation? Hopefully you understand what I'm trying to ask.
-
So you're telling me that they should have scripts/updates that could be applied to our version to upgrade the phpBB? I will get back with them and see if they have more options than just doing a version upgrade of cPanel.
-
cPanel Build on my server is 9.9.9-STABLE 15. cPanel support told me to have the TCH server upgraded to the latest STABLE cPanel version. I will submit a support ticket with TCH for this.
-
I used one that I found through Hotels.com awhile back. I do not remember the name. Rooms were tiny! But I guess that's probably the norm in such a crammed city.
-
My CP only has 2.0.11 available via the interface. I will notify CPanel that their package needs to be updated. I have some sites I want to move over, but I need to see at least 2.0.14 from the CP GUI.
-
My CP only allows me to do version 2.0.11. I better put in a support ticket. It's unsafe.
-
They are upto 2.0.15 (with 2.0.13 being "Critical"). My Cpanels are only showing 2.0.11. When will the Cpanels get updated so we can have a new version of phpBB to upgrade to?
-
Now they just released 2.0.13 due to some new exploits. I need to install this cpanel software on my non-TCH sites to make it easier to upgrade all of them. Sucks that they have to keep releasing fixed versions, but at least they're finding all these holes and getting 'em fixed and released.

Googlebot & Msnbot Have Gone Crazy!
thehemi replied to jhollin1138's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
I see that Googlebot is hounding one of my websites, too. 10x as much Googlebot traffic as -all traffic- combined. -
TCH supports Rewrite rules in htaccess files? That is awesome. I use that on several non-TCH sites for blocking people who try to steal images, stop common forum attack exploits, and such. Makes me feel better that I could bring those sites to TCH.
