  1. Hello, vyzer! I've used Swish 2.0, SwishMax, Flash (to a limited extent), Mix-FX & Anim-FX. I'm not familiar with Xtivity. But in all the prgorams I've used except one, I was able to simply exchange the .swf info in the html with the new .swf files to publish them using CSB (or Trellix, when I had that) -- they all worked the same. Anim-FX is different -- it requires a .txt file to be uploaded in the same directory along with the .swf & the html for the Flash file. But I use the INSERT-HTML code of CSB for them all. In the html code, I simple change the dimensions to the .swf I created, and change the name of the .swf after "^GEMDIR/". Sometimes I don't use "^GEMDIR" but upload the .swf separately. (I've gotten lazy lately and use GEMDIR almost exclusively now, though.) You'll need to specify your background color, I guess. But other than that, if you have a .swf, you can use "generic" html code for .swf files to put it up. Unless you want to do special things like check for certain versions of the Flash/Shockwave player and all that kinda stuff. Then you're getting too complicated and I can't help there... The following represents some "generic" code -- which will work in Flash Player 4.0 and later, and warn people (I think) if they don't have a Flash player that they need to download one. Just substitute your values & data: <html> <head> <title>YOUR WEB SITE NAME</title> <meta name="description" content="WHAT YOU WANT SEARCH ENGINES TO READ FOR THE WEB PAGE"> <meta name="author" content="YOUR CO. OR YOUR NAME OR ALIAS ONLINE"> <meta name="copyright" content="THIS IS OPTIONAL, REALLY, BUT SERVES A PURPOSE I GUESS - I PUT ALWAYS MY MINISTRY'S NAME HERE"> <meta name="keywords" content="SEARCH TERMS YOU WANT SEARCH ENGINES TO CLASSIFY YOUR SITE BY"> </head> <!-- Created by Yours Truly --> <body bgcolor="#XXXXXX"> <center> <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://active.macromedia.com/flash4/cabs/swflash.cab#version=4,0,0,0" id="PutYourSWF-FileNameHere" width="xxx" height="xxx"> <param name="movie" value="^GEMDIR/PutYourSWF-FileNameHere.swf"> <param name="quality" value="high"> <param name="bgcolor" value="#XXXXXX"> <embed name="PutYourSWF-FileName" src="^GEMDIR/PutYourSWF-FileNameHere.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#XXXXXX" width="xxx" height="xxx" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash"> </embed> </object> </center> </body> </html> Hope that helps. Again, some of the info is optional, like sometimes I forget to change the "id" or "embed name" and the Flash file still works fine. I'll do a little research on Xtivity to see what that's all about.
  2. Never mind... I figured out how to do what I needed without using a container page. I just needed to create an HTML object, and place link in it, in the middle section as follows: <a href="http://www.URLthatIwantedinthemiddle.com"></a> Cool! Mission
  3. I would like to have a container page for an external URL that uses the same top & left border as my web site. Is that possible? Mission

  5. In order to utilize the php capabilities of my broadcast software, I'm told that I have to make sure Interbase is supported in the php configuration. Is that something I can do myself? Is it even allowed?
  6. How exactly does one make the default address ":fail: no such address here"? Is it in options where it says "Default Identity" -- is that what you put into the "E-mail Address" field? Thanks.
  7. You are creating much more complex things than I am -- maybe you should really save up and get a more robust image editor. I love my PhotoDeluxe 4.0 because it does what 2.0 did, plus does it better. I think the experts out here have already stated their preferences so if we PDX adherents need advanced help, we'll probably be on our own. I mean I'm sure they'd help if they could, but they seem to be using more robust programs. I couldn't even figure out the interface on PhotoShop Elements. Mission
  8. Thanks, David! I'll have to check around to see how I can put 'em to use. It's a shame to have great features that I don't even know how to use. My phpBB forum is utilizing one, but I had no idea how that was implemented or established. Mission
  9. I see 4 databases listed in the lower righthand corner of my Cpanel page: MySQL, phpMyAdmin, PostgreSQL, and & phpPgAdmin. What are those used for? I keep seeing statements from people with radio stations like mine saying they use databases on their web hosts. I have no idea how to use a database located on my TCH server. Mission

  13. Hey, everybody! I've been in-n-out -- you know me. Remember (in another forum, I think) I said I had to get a new scanner because my old software didn't work on my new networked XP Home PC? Well, my new scanner came with PhotoDeluxe 4.0. And it works GREAT -- it just has a facelift compared to PhotoDeluxe 2.0. It does the same things with the same filters, but actually works better on XP Home than 2.0 worked on Win98. So HunterRose, if you can find PhotoDeluxe 4.0, cop it and try that! You may have to Google it because it's also "not supported" any longer. But I'm extremely happy with mine, and I didn't have to learn any new software -- all the same filters are all there. I downloaded the trial of Photoshop Elements and it doesn't have all the filters that PhotoDeluxe had. I didn't like the interface of PhotoShop Elements, either. Mission
  14. I decided to come out of hiding with my TCH fam. Please add ALR Holy Hip Hop & Urban Gospel Radio to the family page. The category is non-profit. Altared Lives Radio (aka ALR or ALR Holy Hip Hop & Urban Gospel Radio) hosts a 24/7 Christian hip hop and urban gospel radio station, music videos, CD reviews, interesting teaching articles, games and humorous writings for the 18-35 age group. My TCH reciprocal link is at the bottom of the home page. Thanks! Mission P.S. If anyone attempts to listen via the Windows Media Player and it gives an error message, it may take several tries of completely closing it down and relaunching it. Sometimes it launches on the first try, sometimes not -- at least, that's the way it behaves with me. (That's just for the "curious," not specifically a solicitation to listen. But anyone is certainly welcome to listen. I just didn't want a reply here saying, "Hey, the WMP link doesn't work..." )
  15. Thanks! That would help. It's a cool feature for the fam. Mission
  16. Cool. I downloaded the trial version of Photoshop Elements 3.0 and will google IrfanView. Thanks everyone! I've got a newsletter to get out in a day or so and the monitor for my old PC died yesterday so I can't even use PhotoDeluxe on that PC anymore. Mission
  17. Yes, I seeeeeeeee... Good! Thanks for everyone's advice! I'll check 'em all out. PhotoDeluxe could do a lot that I never even ventured into. But the things I did use, I used them A LOT: like saving in a few different file formats, different effects filters (neon glow, solarize, blur, sharpen, etc.), the tools (paintbrush, line draw, eraser, smudge, etc.), smart object, changed the backgrounds, changed the dimensions of photos -- simple stuff like that. Mission
  18. Hey, I've found a few online shops that carry it -- even a version 4. But I don't know if it's compatible with WinXP -- WinXP isn't listed in the OS for PhotoDeluxe. Anybody know? Thanks. Mission
  19. I have recently purchased a new PC. I've transferred most of the software from my old PC to the new one. But one program that has been invaluable to me, Adobe PhotoDeluxe 2.0, was a preinstalled program on the old PC -- so I can't transfer it to my new PC. PhotoDeluxe seems to no longer be available, and I really need something comparable. I guess PhotoDeluxe was the predecessor for Photoshop, or was the budget version. I don't know if I want to invest several hundred $$$ for PhotoShop -- especially since I've seen the interface and it doesn't look as easy-to-use as PhotoDeluxe was. Who's using something simple that didn't cost as much as your PC? Mission
  20. I'm having problems finding the "Family Page" everyone is talking about in this forum. Where is it? Thanks. Mission
  21. Boondevah! ("Wonderful!") Congrats TCH fam! (I finally made it out here just to be friendly. ) Mission
  22. Yayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!! Thanks for your help everyone! Mission
  23. Thanks, Carbonize. I'll poke around with it again.
  24. Ok, I made manual changes to the template files after overwriting the other files. I read at phpBB.com about running the update_to_latest.php. I first put the install folder (containing the update_to_latest.php file) in my "forums" folder. It gave me a Page Not Found error when I put the full path in my browser to go to it. So I moved the install folder to my public_html directory. When I put it in the browser, I got a "Please read install.html before attempting to install" message. On my Forum's administration home page, it says in red letters: Your installation does not seem to be up to date. Updates are available for your version of phpBB, please visit http://www.phpbb.com/downloads.php to obtain the latest version. The latest available version is phpBB 2.0.13.You are running phpBB 2.0.11 Can someone share what I need to do now? Thanks. Mission
