I was wondering if anyone here knows how to create templates for CSB? What would be necessary, other than raw creative skill? (Like does one need Photoshop or ???)

I'm sorry to hear about Don. My prayers are with his family, loved ones and the TCH family who have been touched by his life and legacy.

I just wanted to say that my site has had no issues whatsoever. Thank the Lord! I was really concerned because those who provided the code thought I would, but everything works just fine, like it did before the upgrade.

My site is going to have to be in the group of the last ones changed over. The experts at my software manufacturer said that some of my php will not work in php5. So I'll have to get some specifics & get it ready to be changed over. I see that my server is in the first group of those to be changed over 11/13 -- so my site will have to be moved to the "php4 laggers" server I guess...

Thanks, Jesse.

What specific version of php5 is the upgrade? I use php scripts provided by my software manufacturer and will ask them if their php4 scripts are compatible with php5. But they possibly may need to know what version of php5 it is.

Thanks Deverill & Thomas. I rely on meta tags and site text that reinforces the tags. It seems to be working real well -- I have good rankings in the search engines and just about everyone who finds the site says they found it via a search engine. I'm glad that the linkback thing may become less & less important in the future. I don't get many links from others trying to target the same niche surfer that I target. Like Rodney Dangerfield used to say, "I don't get no respect." So I'll just stay on top of what I'm doing and go with the flow whenever they change the criteria.

Great! I saved it to my favorites. Lotsa good stuff. I have a question about metatags & keywords, though. I think I saw another thread on a TCH board where someone mentioned that search engines don't rely on metatags & keywords as much anymore. Anybody know what they are relying more on now?

Has the site builder been rolled out yet? I didn't know where to look for it, so I looked in cPanel and in Fastastico. I didn't see anything new in my cPanel or in Fantastico. Am I missing something?

Thanks, Bruce.

I had a counter on one of my web pages (hosted on a different domain) that had a count up around 46,000+. Today I looked at the counter and where it "was" says, Counter datafile "/var/cpanel/Counters/myusername.dat" must be created in cpanel first! What happened to my counter? Would it have something to do with the change in my shared IP for my TCH site this week? Thanks.

Multiple Copies Of Same Email Coming
Mission replied to Mission's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Man, I apologize. I totally forgot about this post. The problem went away on its own. To answer some fo the questions: I'm on cable broadband. I would open OE and several copies of the same email would download, with the same time stamp. I never had the chance to check the headers since the problem stopped on its own and I hadn't gotten back out here to read the posts. If I recall correctly, I did indeed find a few copies of the same email on my TCH webmail account. My accounts are set to delete the messages on my TCH server when they download to OE. The email sign-up from the php form on my web site had the same data & time stamp. Since the problem stopped on it's own, I didn't get a chance to read the replies to this post and check the headers. -
Heyyyy! I looked for this thread the other day and it was too old to access or something. But I needed to get this book and I remembered that someone mentioned it. Great that the thread was reopened or something! Whatever happened, I'm thankful. I'm going to look for this book right NOW! In a previous post, I mentioned how I didn't know what the layers were for or how to use them om PDX. But I was experimenting the other day on my own and now I know! They are really cool for overlaying images. I made some real cool banners. So now I want to invest in this book and go higher in my graphics skills!

I just logged into my account's main email box (the Webmail link in cpanel) and see that I've had 100 "undeliverable" email returned -- email that I also didn't send. I haven't used that account to send or receive mail since November of 2005. The default for my account is set to :fail:. However, the "return" email addie is not my domain name, but the TCH server on which my site resides. The "undeliverable" emails started coming on Dec. 12, 2006. The header says Envelope-to: myusername@myservernumber.tchmachines.com .

I have set up a few of my email accounts to download to Outlook Express on my PC. Today, I started getting multiple copies of the same email. These are not SPAM -- they have the same time and are from people that I know who are responding to emails I've sent to them. One set of duplicate email came from my php signup form on my web site. The last time I saw multiple identical emails arriving to me, it involved my email at work and precluded a massive email server breakdown on my job. I hope that's not about to happen with my TCH email accounts! Is this my ISP's issue or TCH's?

Thanks, Don. I just checked out Dadamail & had looked at phpList before installing the phpformgenerator. I wanted something on my site that would gather the email addresses w/o subscribers having to send me an email, or having to leave my site. I already have a program through which I can design and send out the emails and newsletters. That program will even manage the email lists, but I haven't set up my mail server to do that. I just wanted something simple on my site that also looked like it was part of my site, to collect the sign-ups -- before GlobalScape discontinued handling CuteSite Builder forms through their server.

Well, it didn't work. Not even when I put the page into the same folder. I had to use a script to call the form page up as a popup. I'll just have to include a line on the other page that tells them to turn off the popup blocker for signing up to my email list.
-
I guess I was trying to avoid royally messing up my site. We'll see how it works out.

I just installed phpFormGenerator for people wanting to join my email list. I have customized the colors and all to match my site for the html that the program generated. But I was wondering -- I was planning to include the html in my regular sign-up page for my email list. But if I do that, I'm concerned that the form won't work since all the php files & code is in a special folder in my web space. For the phpFormGenerator to function properly, do I need to place my page in the same folder/directory where the application's other files reside (the php code and such), and link to the page there then? Or is there special script that refers to the form1.html (will including form1's html in another web page make the script inoperable)? I have already looked for javascripts to do what I wanted with the email sign-up, but could find none that were suitable (I searched all of the well-known free javascript sites).

Temporarily Pause/suspend Email Account?
Mission replied to surfdean's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Oh, ok. Thanks, Bruce. -
Temporarily Pause/suspend Email Account?
Mission replied to surfdean's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Oh-oh. The mail isn't being delivered to my inbox, but I'm also not getting a bounce message, either. What am I doing wrong? I put the email addie that I wanted to bounce as part of the header that the filter should look for. Then I put :fail: for what I wanted done when that email addie is found in the header. I'm not getting anymore spam, but I'm not getting a bounce message when I send email to that addie, either. -
Temporarily Pause/suspend Email Account?
Mission replied to surfdean's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Man, I just decided to come and ask this same question, but I've already forwarded most of the mail to another account now. I should have come out here and asked the question first. Oh well, I'll try the :fail: now. Thanks. -
I just have one product to sell, too. I am very new to this ecommerce thing, and will probably lean toward a PayPal connection. I've seen the acronym "CMS" in this thread twice. What is that referring to?
