I think it just depends on how much you plan on selling. I've seen some browsers give security warnings, and some other not. And people don't usually look at the address bar after they get going. So if your business is small, and you plan on selling only a few thousand worth of product, a shared will probably do. But if you plan on selling more, then the 185 plus 85 for set up is probably worth it just to have your name on the cert. It's your decision scott. Shared will definitely get the job done. Private looks a bit cleaner.

Popcorn by Ultrafunk is a very slick, very free, and very small POP3 client. If you are managing a ton of pop3 email accounts, this is a quick way to check them without wasting time and resources... You can get a good look at what your client is receiving on his / her side. It makes diagnosing outlook and outlook express problems quick and easy. Trouble shoot Authentication / Server problems easy as well. It looks at the headers and gives you the first 50 lines, also you can use smtp, you can take it with you on a disk or throw it on your web server for a quick download (i'm not 100% sure about that, have to check the license) Title of Software - Ultrafunk Popcorn Pop3 client Category - Utility Owner - Ultrafunk Cost - oh so free... I hope this is helping, free software is my gig.

I'm a skeptic who hates change, so It was pretty hard to come over here. But now that I have, I'm glad I did... If you wanna read my real cheesy review you can on findmyhosting.com, but if you're here now, odds are pretty good that you'll be convinced just by looking through the forums. The two things that stand out about TCH are the service and the price... "...can they really be that good?" you ask. Yes, they can. The posts on the forums will get answered faster than you can get to a support tech on some phone support systems (i'm obviously prone to hyperbole, but in some cases, that statement is true by a mile) I sent an email to my old host (verio, the supposed biggest) almost 24.5 hours ago and still haven't gotten any response aside from the automated one. In the few months I've had accounts at TCH, I haven't waited more than a few hours at the most for any problems. (I haven't even used the help desk yet, haven't had to, but I imagine it's pretty slick) More to say, but I"m sure you've read enough, TCH is as good as it gets.

CoffeeCup Fre Zip Wizard is an absolutely no$ replacement for WinZip you can read about it here. If you are license-concious, then you know that Winzip only has a 21 day free trial before you technically need to send them a check for 29$ US. This became a problem for me, as everyone in my company needs to be able to read .zip files at least occasionally. Coffee Cup looks like a good solution. It is very basic, but definitely it extracts the file. Easy to use, perfect for a Basic workstation user / home user. Coffee Cup also has some other great software, haven't looked into it yet... You can download WinVNC and read about it here I've been using it for a couple of years now, it's an absolutely awesome local network tool. It places an icon in the systray (windows) to keep it from being used as a spy program. The greatest feature is cross platform functionality though, let's you use a windows box to monitor and X desktop or mac or vice-versa. not so great for internet use, but great to manage a 10Mbps + local network. completely free. pretty decent support.

Looking to move my business accounts over to a reseller basic package, and very excited! Still have some questions though... 1. SSL - One of my sites will need to sell some items, is using the shared certificate a good way to go for this? 2. SSL - will I need to purchase a dedicated ip address for the ssl portion of the site? 3. SSL - any other recommendations concerning on-line sales? I appreciate the help. 4. Two letter domain names - dumb question, but have you guys ever had a problem with 2 letter domain extensions? one of mine is ".hm", but I have the necessary access to change the nameservers... For the reseller accounts, do they come with SSH access by default? or do they still need to ask for it... Also, I read somewhere earlier that the reseller accounts give you access to the dns or something, is that true? Anything else you could tell me about reseller would be helpful, I have to move my business accounts from verio (they are too expensive and blacklisted on some spam lists) and of course I'm a little nervous.

I've heard that mod_perl can be a resource hog a times, as well as can be more difficult to administrate with a bunch of domains on a single machine... also, they may have some security issues with a perl interpreter inside their web server...
