  1. http://layer1.cpanel.net/ChangeLog.cgi?&showall=Linux-x86 Under 9.1.0 (build 95): Should put your mind at ease. The imap daemon is one of the daemons that is managed through the cPanel distribution as it ties in with your control panel functionality. cPanel developers are not always up front in providing details of the daemons they use. Sorry for the confusion in the responses you received in the past. cPanel does appear to customize it, probably to better integrate with the control panel, as can even be seen by the banner it displays: * OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4REV1 LOGIN-REFERRALS AUTH=LOGIN] serverX.totalchoicehosting.com IMAP4rev1 2003.339-cpanel at Thu, 8 Jul 2004 17:00:28 -0400 (EDT) But it's still uw-imap under the hood. P.S. The server installed squirrelmail configurations also use "uw" as the setting for imap.
  2. TCH servers use cPanel's modified version of the uwimap daemon. You can set $imap_server_type = 'uw'; to have a compatible setup. Also, using sendmail for sending would in most cases would be the best method.
  3. Huh? Did you say something?
  4. Users don't have access to change ownership of files. If the ownership is showing up as 99, that means the files are being created as the webserver user (nobody). You can submit a helpdesk ticket to request the the files be changed for you, but if they get changed back by your sqmail installation, you'll need to look at your sqmail setup (I don't know the sqmail setup options off the top of my head).
  5. I use Wordpress and think it's great, but I might qualify as 'geekdom'. Textpattern has recently changed to opensource licensing, which is an improvement. That's one of the leading reasons I didn't try textpattern before (I don't like unclear licensing, no matter what the author may "promise" for the future).
  6. Looks a little like my brother's dog, who they named "Monster".
  7. On regular virtual accounts, you cannot provide websites for other people. You would need separate accounts or a reseller account for that. Taken from the Acceptable Use Policy:
  8. We automatically update cPanel to the latest stable release as soon as it's available so we are always running the the current stable version, which as of this post is 9.4.1-STABLE_65.
  9. It'll run every 6 hours calculated from 0 (midnite). So if you set it to run every 6 hours, it will run at 0600, noon, 1800, and midnite.
  10. Most likely they will be more targeted in the future. However, the way the mozilla team and Microsoft approach security in their browsers is significantly different in my opinion. Microsoft in the past has often focused on functionality first, security second (and in some cases standards third). They are slowly getting better, but still have a ways to go. Again, though... this is my opinion on the matter.

  12. The sites that contain the vulnerable code are IIS websites, but the browser they target when people visit the sites is IE, due to IE specific "capabilities".
  13. Park .net, .org and .us on top of .com, and then create forwarders in cPanel for the user in each of those 3 domains to forward to user@domain.com. If domain.com is your main reseller account (i.e., not listed in your WHM), you'll have to request the domains to be parked for you via the helpdesk.
  14. Proper city 3-point parallel parking: 1) drive up close enough to the front car to break their side mirror off. 2) turn wheel and back up until you hear a loud bang. 3) turn wheel to straighten the car out and pull forward until you hear another loud bang. Turn car off and leave. For the damage on cars without big bumpers.... it's their fault for parking in the city.
  15. Alexandre, if you are a shared site customer, you'll have to submit a ticket as Thomas said, as it requires us to fix it. If you are a dedicated server user, or a non-customer, PM me and I can give you details. You need to have root on the server that needs to be fixed.
  16. The only guestbooks that will show up as "upgradable" are ones that were installed via cPanel before. Did you perhaps install yours manually?
  17. Are you trying to install it to do something the version available in your control panel can't do for you?
  18. cPanel now has 2.3.1 version of the Advanced Guestbook available, so you should use that to install or upgrade your existing installation.
  19. Look at the google cached pages of these forums and it should be quite obvious why signatures don't get indexed.
  20. The short answer is "no". What you see is what you get. For the long answer, you would have to have a dedicated server (so you can install your own templates). It's still pretty complex, though, if you go beyond getting prebuilt templates as the API is not documented really by cPanel, it's largely documented by others who have basically reversed engineered it. There are prebuilt templates, though, that are more flexible that can be purchased (but again, require you to have a dedicated server).
  21. FYI, cPanel now does mysql dumps of your databases instead of hotbackups of the mysql directories when you do full backups. So if you do a full backup of your homedir, you will get restorable mysql databases now with it.
  22. Work Welcome to the family, Sreenivas. Thumbs Up
  23. Uh, good for you webmedic. Anyway, this vulnerability is old. See the response by the IPB team in their forums.. includes a link to where to get an non-vulnerable SSI that was released back in February (the one annie referenced) if you have not fixed your own yet: http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showtopic=130344 Moving to security.
  24. I'm not a flash guy, so can't really help ya there off the top of my head. But great looking flash! Only thing is in Mozilla/Firefox, it doesn't expand out so it only shows up as a small box in the browser.
  25. I'm not a big fan of those games that promote getting people to click links in order to advance. I've seen too many cases where people start posting "click this" all over the place.
