David, Are you an employee of TCH? or a volunteer? Andy
-
1. I did post in this forum - I appreciate your response, but it was the incorrect path. 2. Before posting in this forum I did a thorough search of the forum, knowledge base and external sites. After clicking submit Help Ticket, I followed the suggested link to a Linux site and reviewed information, but could not find the answer. 3. The subject on the Help Ticket is "Cron Job Path." I simply asked for the path from cPanel and included my previous attempts and results. They kindly suggested it was a permissions problem. 4. I reviewed my original post and see your point - should have clarified the issue in subject. I just wasn't sure if my path was the problem or it was something else. I have invested two hours of my time to figure this out and it might save someone some time if it was documented in a FAQ/tutorial/knowledge base.

This info should go into a FAQ or tutorial since it is not available at this time and a Help Ticket resulted in: Who can do that?
-
FIXED!Thanks David. I finally looked at an installation of Gallery and found the correct path is: /usr/local/bin/php /home/username/public_html/pathtocron/yourcron.php The actual domain name is not used.

I'm a newbie that needs to run a cron job on a reseller account. I read everything I can find in this forum and documents from Moodle. So far no luck with different emailed results like: (this is just a temporary setup until I move it to the real domain) 15 * * * * /usr/local/bin/php /home/andymansker/moodle/admin/cron.php /bin/sh: line 1: 15: command not found <****@server47> /home/andymansker/moodle/admin/cron.php /bin/sh: line 1: /home/andymansker/moodle/admin/cron.php: No such file or directory and perhaps the most successful: <****@server47> /usr/local/bin/php /home/andymansker/moodle/admin/cron.php Could not open input file: /home/andymansker/moodle/admin/cron.php. A direct URL to the file runs fine. The file is located as shown in the path above. Moodle info is here: http://moodle.org/doc/?file=install.html#cron It seems like this would work: 15 * * * * /usr/local/bin/php /home/andymansker/moodle/admin/cron.php Any help is appreciated!

Need To Set Grant Permission On Mysql Database
amansker replied to matzofast's topic in Installing Scripts
I did fix the permissions problem and still have the same issue. I have read more posts by Matzo, and others, about this problem. Ultimately Matzo asked in this form: Do I have root MySQL access? and the response was "NO" That is what I need to make this work. I have created the db, but now I have to figure out how to manually set it up for this app. thanks, andy -
Need To Set Grant Permission On Mysql Database
amansker replied to matzofast's topic in Installing Scripts
I'm having this exact problem with opendocman. I created a user and gave ALL priviledges in cpanel/mysql account maintenance with the same results. I'm stuck. Matzo, did you fix this problem? -
A client needs to manage 50 and eventually a couple hundred .doc and pdf files online. Need multiple permission levels for clients / internal staff. Admin system that allows non-computer types to add / upload docs. I would like to host it on TCH servers, of course. Any suggestions? I'm comfortable with php script/mySQL or a turnkey application that can be installed on TCH servers. thanks, andy

300 is a pretty small list. You can just maintain a .txt file like: joe@sdfsdf.com jane@sdfsd.com etc. and manually modify as needed. I have used Gammadyne Mailer for lists of 20,000 - lots of options. http://www.gammadyne.com/mmail.htm I have several clients that just use a text file, Outlook, and simple HTML file: http://thompsonrose.com/newsletter/

Subdomain Ftp Login Stopped Working
amansker replied to amansker's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance

Subdomain Ftp Login Stopped Working
amansker replied to amansker's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Fixed. How odd. We have all (6 of us) been using: user: * changed to: user: *@domain.com and it is now working. I don't understand why it worked WITHOUT the full email address for 2 weeks and now requires it.??? -
I set up a subdomain 2 weeks ago and created an FTP user account assigned to that subdirectory. Everything has worked fine until today. Now logging in with FTP says "incorrect pw". The URL to the files in that subdomain still works. I can login through the parent account (domain the sub-d resides in) and see the directory, files, upload/download. I changed the pw and also created a new FTP user account with different user/pw and neither worked. I don't want to delete and start over to have the same problem occur and there are lots of mb uploaded. NOTE: I'm a reseller and a client emailed on Friday to complain that HIS subdomain login was not working. I suggested he use cPanel to change the pw and have not heard back from him. At the time I didn't realize this seems to be a broader problem and not his ignorance! help!

Url Directory/file Listing To Download Files
amansker replied to amansker's topic in Open Discussion
Previously I had created the directory and THEN set up the subdomain. I deleted everything and started over and it works fine. Thanks for the help! -
I have the need to upload files to an ftp account and allow people to download the files with a directory listing. This enables them to view all files on the server and right-click to download. It is not a direct hyperlink to each individual file. In the past I have used: www.domain.com/? to show a directory listing. Currently I'm getting "404 error" with that URL. Is there something I can change on the TCH account? We actually need to access a subdomain if that matters. thanks, Andy

I installed Gallery and it works OK, but seems to have a few glitches. Has anyone used both of these apps? Dependability is a priority. Any info/suggestions is appreciated.
-
I recently installed several copies of Gallery and Gallery Remote (local) which seems to be working quite well. I'm considering offering it commercially-as a hosted service, not the software itself. Gallery allows you to post images online in the simplest/quickest manner possible. Even grandma can do it. http://gallery.menalto.com/
-
That's it. Thanks!
-
I'm installing a php gallery and need to upload an empty text file named .htaccess in /gallery The file uploads, I try to change permissions, but all options are grayed out. Refresh the screen and the file is gone from the server. See no errors for FTP. Help!

Perfect! I never clicked on Add Filter. Thanks.

How can I delete spam identified by SA? I dont' want to see it, ever. I'm aware of the potential consequences, just not applicable in this case.
-
Same here. Just enabled the SpamBox for the first time. I don't see /spam

I just removed an account from TCH using the control panel. This post seems to say the account existed on multiple servers. Are these backups/redundant copies? Just curious. thanks, andy
