yeah I'm still not sure what to do with it. Btw I am calling tommorrow to order cable internet. Then after I get that setup then I will call up my current isp and cancel dial up.

I did think about installing linux on it after I get a bigger hardrive since I have never played with linux before. I may do that next just to past the time. I have been looking for a cheap hardrive around 5GB or so to buy for it since the comptuer isn't that important to me to begin with. I can still buy ram for this old hog. It runs 72 Pin EDO. Right now it only has 64mb of ram (2 32mb sticks, 4 ram slots total). I thought about upgrading it to at least 128.

I could but I probably won't. I do plan on buying a router though with a built in firewall sometime but it isn't top on my list of things to buy since I already got a hub laying around. First thing I am getting cable internet and dumping dial up. I would get dsl but then I would have to run new phone lines in my house and that would be a waste of time since after I get high speed internet I am canceling the house phone and getting a cell.

yeah I kinda like the one I made but I haven't posted it yet. It is a little to much I think. I am going to work on a another one.

Working better now

I have a old Pentium 1 200MHZ computer system with a AT case and mainboard sitting in my basement and since I was bored I decided to throw in this 200MB junk hardrive I found laying around to see if it even worked. Sure enough I installed the hardrive and got it to boot up then I installed one of the many extra cd-roms I have laying around. Since it is only a 200mb hardrive windows 98 won't fit on a 200MB hardrive so I wrote the hardrive to 0 and then reformated it and installed windows 95. After I was finished I pulled the cd-rom out. Now it runs with a little over 100MB left with windows 95. What am I going to do with this you wonder? Oh nuthing really. I was just bored. Next time I am bored maybe I will take that old computer out of the case and make it into a night stand computer or something. LOL Here is a picture

Hmm maybe I will just have to wait until I can get cable internet to come back here to post because it is taking about 3 mins or more to load each page. I should have cable internet going by the end of the month if they don't delay it again!

The forums are just slower than heck here. This is why I haven't been here a lot to post. I think a switch to VB would be a good idea because then i can come here more often and post. My phpbb forum loads really fast and has no problems but I had major issues with invision board when I used to run it. That is why i went to phpbb. Of course I lost my posts but it was worth it because invision board has lots of issues. TCH Rocks

Ah Cool! I gotcha Now if we can only fix this forum to make it load faster. It is slower than heck here. the database supporting this forum must really be getting messed up cuz my phpbb board is super fast with no problems.

I figured hostdime didn't have their own servers or data center. What exactly is a colocation facility?? lol sorry I only mainly know about building computers and home network systems, etc. Please explain how this all works Btw i thought about building my own home server but only for home use, not to host my own websites.

Hmm I wondered why these photos look familiar Looks like another hosting company is taking pics from tch. These pictures are supposed to be of hostdime's data center. Which by looking they don't even own since the pictures are on a differnet server with a isp provider. Unless of course if tch has their fire suppression units and ac in another state! The forum works fine for me here However the last few weeks Invision Power Board and me have been going rounds on both of my domains because I was dealing with problems with it. for a while there it was kicking my @$$ but tonight I just decided to end the fight and I won. I erased both my forums and installed phpbb for both.

Since I can't post in the faq where the moveable type topic is then I will post here. I was wondering how in the world do you get moveable type to work. I can't get it working. Would be nice if we had an autoinstaller for it.

You gotta login to your control panel and then create a database, user, and password for the database. Then you need to put all that info on that install page to proceed.

Could it be a software issue? What type of burning software do you use?
