  1. EdHosting You can create Adobe Acrobat .pdf files of the Awstats now, if you have the "Acrobat PDF Writer" set up as a printer. I just did it and it works great, Acrobat will save the Awstats page in two files, the left frame and the body itself, the left frame is one page and the body is five pages. Richard

  3. Liz Don't give up the ship, as Jim said, just create a simple two page site and publish it, it's very easy, you'll get the hang of it. That Publishing Wizard was included in MS Publisher 98, that has now been eliminated with MS Pub 2002. Have you tried the "HELP" button in MS Publisher? Click on HELP, than on the "Index" tab, enter the text (Web Site) and than click on search, 42 Topics will appear, from creating a site, testing your site and publishing the site. BTW, I also did like the earlier version of MS Publisher. Richard
  4. Liz Below is what I think the problem is when you go to your second page and cannot come back to your "Home Page" by clicking on the Home Page Link. Your Home Page file name is index.htm, the folder that contains all your pages and images is named, BizzyLizzySoaps_files When you open your second page, the Home Page link when hovered over reads, BizzyLizzySoaps.htm it should read index.htm. If you go to, http://www.bizzylizzysoaps.com/BizzyLizzyS...es/filelist.xml you will see the files that are in your MS Publisher folder that is uploaded to your site and it is referring to a fileMainFile HRef="../BizzyLizzySoaps.htm. I also created a quickie site http://www.rjskon.com/ms_pub using MS Publisher and uploaded it, when I "Saved As Web Page" I named the file index.htm, when I did this MS Pub also named the folder that contains all the images and pages "index_files" If you go here you can see what I mean, http://www.rjskon.com/ms_pub/index_files/filelist.xml And you will see that the folder is referring to, MainFile HRef="../index.htm Which is what it is supposed to do. I would suggest that when you "Save As Web Page", that you rename the file to (index.htm) You may have renamed your leading page or Home Page from "BizzyLizzySoaps.htm" to index.htm, at one time so the page would open, this is just a guess. Good luck. Richard
  5. Liz I have used MS Publisher in the past a little when I first started out. It looks as if you are using MS Publisher 2002 and are just starting out creating a page. I have a suggestion, try using one of the "Web Page Templates" that Publisher has, you will have better control of the page layout page width. When you are finished creating your site, use the "Save As Web Page" function in Publisher. When you do that MS Publisher 2002 will create a folder which contains a file list and all the images that you placed on your pages, it will also create your index.htm page file along with all the other page files. Upload the folder and files to what ever directory you want at your host, with TCH the folder will be in the public_html directory. BTW, MS Publisher has a very good HELP section on publishing a site. Richard

  7. Roadmap Log onto Cpanel. Scroll down to the bottom of the text on the left side of the page. To the right of the text "Documentation" at the bottom, click on the "Click To View" link. When the page opens, click on the text link "index" in the left frame. When the Index opens in the body of the page scroll down to "Scripts" and listed under scripts you will see, "Advanced Guestbook" and "Guestbook", click on "Guestbook", instructions will appear in the body of that page. I have never used the Guestbook, there may be an easier way, but this should get you started. Richard

  11. Russ In the past I have used the "Web Page Generator" function that is included in an image program called CompuPic, I used it to set up some progress photos on a construction project. All you have to do is pick the images that you want to use, set the criteria that you want and the program will create all the thumbnails and HTML pages and all you have to do is upload all the files that it creates. Here is a sample of a couple of the pages, http://www.rjskon.com/photo_gen/page1.html Richard

  13. Hey Guys Just a note from an experience that I had last week. Don't get carried away when you're setting permissions, pay attention to what you are doing. Last week, I changed hosts from Webcountry to TCH and was setting permissions on some perl scripts, when I accidentally changed permissions on the "public_HTML" folder using WS_FTP LE and I couldn't access my web sites, I would receive a page saying "permission was denied to access rjskon.com", talk about panic. I had to write out a Help Ticket and within 3 minutes, Mitch told me what I had done. Richard

  17. I use FTP Explorer 99% of the time and WS_FTP_LE to set permissions, both are freebies. FTP Explorer is very similar to Window's Explorer, I often have FTP Explorer open along with a Window's Explorer window and drag and drop folders and files either way, from my hard drive to my host or from my host to my hard drive , works great for me. But always looking for something better. Richard

  19. I am a CompuServe member, my opening page or Home Page is CompuServe's Main Page, which is a custom version of Internet Explorer. There I can find the latest headlines, current news, the current temperature and the days weather at a glance, all before I have my morning coffee, plus this is where I pick up my mail. As for Internet Explorer 6.0 and Netscape 7, I have the default page in IE set to MSN.com, because I use their search engine quite a bit and for Netscape 7 I have the default page set to rjskon.com, I have it set that way just as a check to see if my site is up and running, or if my host has a problem. I run all the browsers from my Window's Task Bar, so they're all a click away. Richard
  20. Bill Appreciate your help and the help of all the TCH Family. Richard
  21. I have a question. I have moved to TCH in the last few days, from Webcountry hosting. I am trying to set up some of my Forms, using Ultimate Form Mail V 1.5 and a couple of other Perl scripts, Matts and NMS. I have started with the php form mail first, the two test forms that I have worked great the first day, I had the recipients set to webmaster@rjskon.com and rjskon@cs.com in the config.php script and I had the webmaster@rjskon.com forwarded to rjskon@cs.com , I use the CompuServe mailing system as my main E-mail, so I don't have to play around with Outlook Express. Like I said, everything worked great including the "Forward" mail for the first day. But today I am receiving the message below from CompuServe neither the recipient or the Forwarded mail is working. Is there anything that I can do to eliminate this problem? Any help would be appreciated. Richard [This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.
