  1. Which guestbook program are you using?
  2. *TCH-Bruce knows this announcement is just going to blow these people away!
  3. While Paul is correct that zipping the files is the quickest way to put them on the server you should be aware that sometimes when you unzip on the server it will not replace files that currently exist. I only mention this because it's happened to me before. Thinking I uploaded some changes but they were not there. If you are putting the files up for the first time this is not a problem.

  8. Not to my knowledge. But I am a mod so the help desk would be a better place to get that question answered.
  9. See surefire's post above.
  10. Welcome to the forums salquod - What about my domain at the old host. It's paid through the end of the year. I guess I need to find out if I can keep my domain with them and point it to TCH? If you can modify your DNS name servers you can leave your domain name with your current registrar and just change them to the TCH name servers. - Folks frequently mis-spell my site a certain way, so I want to add a second domain to point to the same place, is that doable? Yes, you can park another domain on top of an existing domain. Just open a help desk ticket and request it. - How long will it take to have my domain point to TCH? Propogation can be up to 72 hours. - What about email, how long does that take to change over? Is it possible that some email would get 'lost' in the process? (I provide email for several folks in my family, so I don't want to mess thm up!) Same thing as propogation for the site, up to 72 hours. When you login to your administration panel on your current host it will say cPanel or what ever admin software they are using. You could start by purchasing your parked domain name and setting up your movable type installation. Once you have it all set up you can take a backup of your current database and upload it here. That would be the simple way to do it with minimal downtime if you do not have cPanel on your current host. Hope that helps.

  15. Maybe we can get one of our members using it to write a short tutorial on how to install and use it. I haven't used it in over a year myself.
  16. Why not change your DNS servers to access the TCH servers provided in your welcome email and eliminate the middleman.
  17. Welcome to the forums Jason Those are the Frontpage extensions folders. If you are not using Frontpage you can uninstall them through cPanel. Before your domain propogates you need to access the site with http://ip-number/~cpanelname per your welcome email.
  18. If you follow the instructions it's not difficult at all.

  20. Hey Bill, feel better. Hope you don't need the surgery but if you do just think of all the ice cream afterwards. That will get you through it.
  21. I found this tip page which may help.
  22. How are you trying to import from Blogger? You should be able to do it.
  23. Curl has been disabled on the servers but check out this post and it should get you going.
  24. Unscruplous people will always try to find pages that don't exist. Fact of Internet life. It's good that you don't have the install scripts laying around or they could wipe out your install.
