  8. I actually use Frontpage XP. I know it is very flawed but I don't really let it do anything, I don't use its templates, I don't let it do any formatting and I certainly don't use those horrible FP extensions. I simply use it for the quick HTML edit and preview funtion and creating bare bones tables that I then repair and take out all the FP rubbish. It sound laborious but I've got it down to a fine art and thats why I've stuck with it. My latest page shows no resemblance to a normal FP page but only took me one evening to make and is W3 valid for HTML & CSS, bobby AAA and backwards compatible to text view. Mostly thanks to AndyB watching over me. http://www.saint52.com/other/cc/index.shtml I have actually got Dreamweaver installed but I never really use it because I'm going backward with web desin at the moment and concentrating more on content, accessibility and functionality than I am on fancy scripts and effects. I tried Adobe Go live as well and couldn't stand it as it was very slow and cluttered with rubbish I'd never use. At least FP loads instantly. Software I use as well as Fp is; Photoshop 7 Photoshop Elements 2 Swish Advanced Replacer HTML Batch editor Text2HTML Web Notepad VB Dir to HTML Convert doc CSE HTML Validator pro Cute HTML editor Cute FTP Bitbeamer Directory lister Speakonia And of course Winamp for motivation Dance As well as a host of online tools for validation and error checking. Thanks for everyones advice. Rock Sign
  9. I've noticed a lot of pages recently that have something like this at the very bottom, offten barely visable and not even links: Is this some sort of search engine cheat or are they just idiots?

  14. Sarcastic but true; http://www.vortex-webdesign.com/help/hidesource.htm The MS error sound thing, My browsers been hijacked and is knackered. Hijack this to the rescue. . . I hope. Thumbs Up
  15. Theres a new feature in IE that goes ><body oncontextmenu="return false" onselectstart="return false" ondragstart="return false"> Unlike the javascript way that can be bypassed during page load this method can't. But it only works in IE so its use is limited but it stops right click menu Selecting dragging so images can't be dragged into address bar. You can combine it however with the javaScript method without problem thus protecting your page from the majority of internet users. If you put images into a table as a background picture and place a transparent gif over the top that can also help. I've noticed some MS pages that when you click Edit>view source just give an error sound and nothing happens. Not sure how that works though. [i'll look into it.] ??? if you are using frames aswell the edit>view source will only show the source for the parent frame and not the child so obviously a full page I-frame can help but Netscape doesn't work properly with I-frames sized with %ages so it's not the best. however these days I don't bother cos like jimuni says if people want it they'll get it so why try? Sometimes trying to hide something makes people look harder. Whats in your source your worried about? Certain script can be encrypted safely although i've never tried it. Thumbs Up
  16. Cool!! Good mix KellyB.
  17. This family is not for losers. . . SPAM MAKES ME . . . Mad!!! The TCH guru's have enough on their plate helping us genuine folk without people messing around and abusing this facility. Respect TCH! Rock Sign
  18. good choices leezard. Very much my dads thing, Slayer sepeltura etc. Old skool rulz!
  19. You could use transparent spacer gifs in the columns to the left of it to stop the left column collapsing. Then use relative attributes and the rest of your page will Dance about and the I-frame won't have any where to go. Takes some experimenting though. jimuni's right tho, I gave up using I-frames in my on going quest for ultimate accessibility after realising netscape doesn't like relatively sized I-frames. Sometimes design can overlook functionality and you end up with a site thats pure eye candy and has no real content or purpose. Check out http://www.netmechanic.com/toolbox/html-code.htm for a browser compatibilty check first and see if enough of your visitors can use your site. Look at TCH site, simple, functional and oh how popular. I'd sacrifice one "mmm nice site" email for a thousand hits with no complaints. Thumbs Up Rock Sign
  20. If yes let me know what your listening to! What music helps you work best? It's sort of a mini research tning I'm doin [no real purpose]. I love music and have 1000's of tunes, always playin. I find it helps me design, I must get inspired or something like that. Right now I've got allsorts on like; warrenG Michael Jackson Tears for fears New order Even Kylie. Rock Sign to da beats!!!

Theres load of mistakes [grammar etc.] and I still need to add bits but I've had enough for tonight. PDF conversions a bit loose, actual product is formatted slightly better and contains other images etc. L8tr
  23. How about one page from scratch on a specific subject. Looking more at an interesting and unique way of presenting the subject as aposed to coding ability. Everyone here can make a page or they would't be here and if its about ideas not skill no ones at a disadvantage. Thumbs Up
