http://www.cfs-technologies.com/home/?id=1.4 Sometimes someone in their infinite wisdom decides "I know I'll use my talent to instead of make a fast buck like everyone else make something everyone can use and benefit from for free". Very much like the guy who wrote Irfanview [Havn't got it yet? Go get it!] Well this time it's speakonia. Probably the best Text to speech software I've used. But I'm not blind? No, but I am lazy. Now I don't even need to read through pages of small text like license agreements, instead I just sit back and listen courtsey of Microsofts many voices. No more squinting at page content in arial size 0.00001pt on my 19" screen at 1280x1024. Simlpy Ctrl+C over your text and away he goes. And he even shouts the capital bit and emphasises the bits ending in ! It's not perfect but because it uses the microsoft engine as their voices improve so does it. My dad who suffers from reading difficulties uses it all the time and I promised the author that I would tell all about this great software. It may not be for everyone but it'll make you laugh when you hear MS Sam raise his voice to a sqeak at every ! while he reads some of TCH's top articles. http://www.cfs-technologies.com/home/?id=1.4

So am I best to use the description and keyword tags to describe the page not the site? Are any of these tags useful? <META name="reply-to" content="info@citycameras.co.uk"> <META name="Rating" content="General"> <META name="distribution" content="Global"> <META name="Classification" content="Shopping"> <META name="Author" content="Nathanael & Alex Owen"> <META name="Copyright" content="©2003DigiruntDesigns">

I'm in the process of building a site for my new business, from past experience I discovered that changing an aspect such as the meta tags in every page can be a pain. So I figured this time I'd do this; ><HTML lang="en-gb"> <HEAD> <!--#include file="head.shtml" --> </HEAD> <BODY link="#006699" vlink="#006699" alink="#006699"> <!--#include file="header.shtml" --> Page content goes here! <!--#include file="footer.shtml" --> </BODY> </HTML> and also have a seperate style sheet with my formatting. But, are there any disadvantages to using SSI this much or am doing the right thing. I figured you guys have way more experience so I'd ask your proffessional opinions. Thanks Thumbs Up Rock Sign

OK now I know this is supposed to be impossible, but my homepage just changed to searchhere.com without me recieving any notification at all. I visited http://ryan-linsley.freeyellow.com/ and followed a link to joina poetry webring and then changed my mind. . .clicked home and . . .wheres google? I always thought that a users homepage couldn't be changed without some sort of notification as a security messure, has this changed, have they got round it, what next unauthorised installations. Has anyone any idea how they've done this? Its like the rudest webtrick out there if it is one. Mad!!!

Sorry it was a bit garbled, I want a link on each poem page that says "Add to your personal favourites" But instead of adding it to the browser favourites it adds it to a personilsed page unique for that user. So when user returns to my site they can quickly go to a poem they added to their list. eg. User clicks "Add to your personal favourites" on poem page 1, 7 and 62 and when they visit their personal favourites page it has only links to; poem 1 poem 7 poem 62 Peferably with delete from favourites option aswell. This might help; http://www.programmersheaven.com/zone18/index.htm in the upper right corner is a little yellow pin that when a user is logged in allows them to add the particular page to their personal favourites. Thumbs Up

Since I startd developing Saint52 I have always wanted one particular script, but with hours and hours spent searching and limited PHP knowledge my search was fruitless and I gave up. I'm posting here in case anyone has ever heard of a script I can do this with. What I wanted was a script that gave a user a link on my poetry pages that when clicked added the poem with a link to a page accessible from the homepage. Kinda like a site based favourites lists personal to each user. I have seen this on other sites but cannot find any open source version anywhere. I didn't want to use Javascript as I have tried to avoid using it on the site for essential features. i found something close written in JS but alas it was poor to say the least, it relied on cookies and entries kept mysteriously vanashing after a few session. Would it have to use a database or could it be done by generating text files? I must of typed in every combination of words relevant to this in google and whith no luck. I see it in use on some estate agent sites and certain big portals use similar technology. Can anyone help or is this another avenue I've exhausted.

Check out the script at this thread, The instructions make it really easy to use. Ultimate form mailer script You shouldn't have to do anything extra to enable cgi just follow the scripts instructions closely. Good luck

After about 50 shots I finally managed to get a panning shot of a dragonfly yesterday. It's not exactly david bailey but I was pleased to have got it. The dragonfly is the little dot in the middle.

I just checked my awsome stats page Rock Sign and noticed I've been hit by a user on a mobile phone. Seeing as I havn't even been crawled yet and my site isn't [i don't think] WAP compatible how is this possible. Could it be a fluke occurance that one of the first real visitors to my site is sat on the bog reading my poetry. Does this happen often. Should I create a wap version. [please say no] Yours confusedly Digirunt

This is an email I recieved recently; There is no mention of unsubscribing or why I am recieving mail from this shoddy looking hosting company. Are people allowed to send spam without these indications or not?

Those tips are great, I've tried to put some body text on my homepage rather than just links and I've revised my keywords to be more specific. I've applied to be part of the family as well as I know it will help with inbound links. Thanks for all the tips Rock Sign
