  1. I'm a few more pay checks away from getting either a dual G4 or a new G5...still quite a hot debate about which is better. Either one will have to be better because I'm still clunking along on my old G3 (pre-pretty-colors) 233. I've had the poor thing since college and hasn't broken down on me yet! Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions on to get the dual G4 or G5 let me know! -Dave
  2. Hey, Thanks for the info. That's a great mailer! I had passed by it before when searching through scripts, but it's great! Thanks. -Dave
  3. Hello TCH Fam It's been a while since I posted, but the time has come to see if anyone can help! I recently found out that with the new Cpanel, you can no longer use the PHP mail function. I completely understand the logic behind it, but I am really doubting whether or not I can fix all of the scripts I use for the websites I run! I'm mainly running mailing lists (for bands, etc) and simple forms for gathering info, info requests, etc. Is there an easy way to convert these scripts that already send by the PHP mail function to an SMTP function? I believe my main mailing list has a hack, but I never used it because it required me to run it from only one computer! When a band calls me at the last minute (which happens a lot!) it's quite an inconvienience to only be able to send it from one location! Or does anyone have any suggestions on good mailing list scripts? Anyway, enough babling, just thought I would see if anyone could help! Anything would be greatly appreciated -Dave
  4. Hey this IS great! Just gave it a try at work! -Dave dave@davegorrie.com

  12. Hey Great, Thanks for the tips! I guess I'm sort of limited in what I can do because of the output of the PostNuke, I'll play a little bit in the code and see what I can (and can't!) do! I've also reworded the link...that was my mistake! I'm also going back and double checking all the other sites I have created to make sure links to my site is on there! Thanks again. -Dave

I have a basic grasp of how indexing works, but I am currently running my site on PostNuke, and I wonder if it will still work? I've added the nescessary meta-tags/keywords, and tried to make sure they appear in the contents of the website...but I just don't know how the page is indexed? Thanks for any help in advance!
  14. I think I had been posting in the "pinned" section, sorry! Anyway, here's my small problem with squirrel mail: I cannot get my "preferences" (under options) to change at all! My username is still defaulting to "user@domain.com"...not the full name i entered. It sounds odd...but this was the only post I could find on the Squirelmail webpage: http://www.squirrelmail.org/wiki/en_US/Cha...IdentityProblem Am I able to access the files? Anythoughts on how this could be fixed? Thanks! -Dave (another satisfied customer )

    Postnuke

Hey Guys, Thanks for the help. I really think there should be a forum called "Post here, and fix it 5 minutes after you Post", or something. I swear everytime I post a problem, even after HOURS of trying to figure it out myself...I fix it 5 minutes later! Maybe it's the magical powers of TCH forums? Anyway, I wasn't putting in the database information in correctly. I wasn't aware that you had to use the following format for entering the data: database name = sqlprefix_databasename user name = sqlprefix_user password = password I wasn't adding the "sqlprefix" which was screwing everything up! Silly new people like me Anyway, Thank you all for your quick response, and I hope this helps others having the same problem! -Dave (ps: My postnuke site is up and running @ www.davegorrie.com/postnuke/html/)
  17. Hey, this is great! I really like the speed that it works at! The only issue I am having is I cannot get my "preferences" (under options) to change at all! My username is still defaulting to "user@domain.com"...not the full name i entered. It sounds odd...but this was the only post I could find on the Squirelmail webpage: http://www.squirrelmail.org/wiki/en_US/Cha...IdentityProblem Am I able to access the files? Postnuke

Ok...so I'm having issues with installing postnuke! argh, everyone tells me how easy it is to install...but I've tried to no avail! Here is what I have figured so far: on the install I will get the following error: No database made. Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user: 'pnuke@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /home/davegor/public_html/postnuke/html/pnadodb/drivers/adodb-mysql.inc.php on line 170 Error connecting to db Program: /home/davegor/public_html/postnuke/html/install/db.php - Line N.: 45 Database: Phoenix Error (1045) : Access denied for user: 'pnuke@localhost' (Using password: YES) Being the genious I am...I figure that is something wrong with my user/pass on the MySql DB I created? Here is what I have in MySql Manger: Sql Account Maintenance Databases davegor_Phoenix Users in davegor_Phoenix davegor_pnuke Connection Strings Perl $dbh = DBI->connect("DBI:mysql:davegor_Phoenix:localhost","davegor_pnuke","<PASSWORD HERE>"); PHP $dbh=mysql_connect ("localhost", "davegor_pnuke", "<PASSWORD HERE>") or die ('I cannot connect to the database because: ' . mysql_error()); mysql_select_db ("davegor_Phoenix"); I've double checked my password for the DB account and everything! Any thoughts? I've had mild success with PHPNuke, but just need something a little more "dumb friendly"! Thanks! -Dave dave@davegorrie.com
