Sure, just log in to your namecheap account and change the dns to the 2 in your welcome email and in a short while your domain name will resolve to your account. If it takes more than 72 hours open a help desk ticket (link at top of page) and ask the techs to check on it. If you mean you signed up with one name and then bought a different name open a help desk ticket to the techs and explain for user and password log-in at the help desk use the user / pass word in your welcome email for your account and use an email from your ISP or gmail or the like and check your spam folders if you have them. You will receive an auto email with a link to your ticket.

Welcome to the forums You can purchase a domain name anywhere or from TCH. After you get the domain name, if you buy it elsewhere you will need to log in where you buy the domain name and point it to the name servers in your welcome email. Then it may take up to 72 hours to update all the ISP name servers in the world.

I tried Expression Web just to see if I liked it Removed it after 2 hours went back to my html editor But thats just me.

You are right. I thought you could. Drop by the Lazarus forum and ask if it can be done. Would be a good feature to be added in future versions. Glad the upgrade went ok. Now you have more options including being able to moderate post to cut down spam.

Yes you can do that. I do the same when upgrading, change just long enough to upgrade then change back. I put all folder at 755. Glad it worked for you. I just tried and fantastico did not want to install to an existing folder.

OK to put SMF in a sub domain use cpanel to create the sub domain use file manager or ftp to delete the folder then in fantastico install SMF in the same folder. Cpanel has already created the redirection and now the forum will be in a sub domain.

Whoops, just tried fantastic will not install to an existing folder so you will have to install it your self.

A sub domain is a folder as in domain/folder fantastico will not install to a folder/folder so you would need to download SMF and install is yourself by creating the folder than upload the files to that folder and visit the install.php file but you can install from fantastico to the folder that is your sub-domain. Does that help?

No, goto the sites FAQ and forum and take a look. But first in cpanel>backup dowload a copy of the database called agbook1.gz or like that then later if need be you can upload it back in the same place. And copy the guestbook folder to your computer then you can always go back. view the guestbook/admin/config.inc.php file. to get your database config info to put in the new guestbook/admin/config.inc.php file. I just deleted my old forum files and installed Lazarus in the same folder after editing the guestbook/admin/config.inc.php file. and ran the install.php page and selected upgrade. no problem

Glad you are set Did you use the reset script? As to the private entries, I do not use Advanced guestbook. I do know thet in Lazarus Guestbook you can do that in the admin panel.

If you mean a set a password for a database user when you add a user in mysql you set a password at the same time. If your guestbook is displaying your guests post correctly then the guestbook is using the correct mysql user/password. you can view it in the guestbook/admin/config.inc.php file. But that is not the same as the guestbook admin log in user and password. For that the reset script will work.

Welcome to the forum scybermonk Carbonize has a password reset script for Lazarus Guestbook that you can use on the Advanced Guestbook. And you might consider converting to his Lazarus Guestbook for better spam protection. It is a rewrite of Advanced Guestbook. And you can keep your database entries as well.
