Changing Domains

Recommended Posts

I recently registered a domain and purchased a hosting plan to go with it from TCH.

And even though I still like my domain name (thisisntporn.com) it occurs to me that it might cause problems when I and my friends try to access it from work, purely by virtue of its name. (I assure any readers of this post that the site will be true to its name).

My question is this: will it be difficult to get my plan and site transferred to a more innocuous domain?

On an unrelated note, is it possible to change my account username for cpanel? The one I was automatically assigned is extremely archaic.

Thanks a lot for any help on this issue.

If you purchase another domain name, open a Help Desk ticket and let the support guys know what it is and they will park it over your current domain.

What if I would rather not have my new site linked to the old one (thereby leaving thisisntporn.com open for another site later)? Could I just have everything changed over from one site to the other rather than having the two sites linked in any way?

Thanks for your quick responses!

If you didn't park it over your current domain then you would have to purchase another hosting package to host it. Or you could purchase a reseller account and host as many sites as you desire in your alloted space and bandwidth.

And to answer your question I am pretty sure they can set your current domain to the new domain and you can use the current one for a new site.

To be sure, open a Help Desk ticket (link above) and ask one of the support guys.

By the way, welcome to the family! :(
