Guest James Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 I'm thinking about switching web hosts because my current one is extremely slow. Sometimes the delays go into the minutes to load a page. I was looking to host at a site that offers high speed so I can learn to do cool things with Flash, such as add music and stuff. What kind of transfer speeds can I expect out of a Virtual Server? Is it "you get what you pay for" or is it decent? Quote
TCH-Rick Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 One way to see what kind of response times other sites on TCH have is to look at some of the web sites of members of this forum. Many put their addresses in their signatures, others have them set up in their profile. If you see a WWW button at the bottom of a message you can go to the user's web site by clicking on it. Here's my Photo Page which has some very large images (700k+) if you click on the thumbnails and resized photos. Nothing real exciting there but you can get an idea of how fast the service is. Quote
Head Guru Posted February 18, 2003 Posted February 18, 2003 I think our members speak loud and clear on this issue. Our servers are not slow, and our bandwidth is the best in the biz! Quote
TCH-Don Posted February 18, 2003 Posted February 18, 2003 James I came here from another host, and was amazed at the speed, both upload and download. I timed a page on my site with 50 photos: Old site 25 seconds, new site 12 seconds. I am very happy here. Quote
