Hi

Ok I currently have 2 re-seller accounts:

1. A shared hosting account.

2. VPS - Fully managed

Now I don't actually sell but have for last 5 years re-sell as it's more

viable to me I host my sites & friends.

I currently have quite a few busy sites.

So I thought I would try VPS which is fully managed.

Now although excellent support, on my Vps i'm getting loads of issues.

That shouldn't be.

So to the question of Semi dedicated:

1. Are they 100% fully managed? ready to go I mean

2. help with fully setting up & any initial issues?

3. How is memory shared, you say 4 users per box.

Can do c-panel moves?

Do we have root access?

How long to setup & get sites running, as my VPS is up on the 3 March & don't wanna pay another month.

Regards Alan

gizmos,

I am not TCH staff, therefore you do not have to take my advice if you do not want to.

Yes, I have a Semi Dedicated-Fully Managed server and it is $79.00 a month.

help with fully setting up & any initial issues?

Yes, I think so.

How is memory shared, you say 4 users per box.
No more than 4 users are on each server.

Can do c-panel moves?

When you create the account, say ' http://user.yourname.com ' then the user can access their cPanel thru ' http://user.yourname.com/cpanel '. I have never tried moving the cPanel's, but I am sure TCH Support staff could assist you in this matter, if you submit a Ticket.

Do we have root access?

>Correction<

No, I do not think so.

Hope this helps!

Alan is mostly right. A semi-dedicated server is exactly the same as a reseller server except that no more than 4 users are on it.

TCH can help you move your sites over. The server is fully managed.

No, you do not get root access. It's still a shared server, it is not a VPS (virtual private server).

The way memory is shared is much like running multi applications on your local machine... it is queued and processed as requested. As far as I know, there is not strict division of capacities or resources, except for HDD space.

Let me clarify something guys.

Our site states 4 users per server. That is on a dual p3 server. All our new reseller servers are quad xeons, so we double the amount of users on the much more powerfull server.

Another thing to remember users are our clients. Each user can host unlimited domains in thier space.

We need to update our site :)
