andypeat Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 I am trying to set-up oscommerce with ssl. I understand TCH have a shared SSL certificate that we can use. what is the procedure to get this working on my account? Where do I put it? I realise the consequences of using this shared cert. but I think for now it is all I need. Is it possible to update it later? thanks. Andy Quote
TCH-Rob Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 Andy, Try this link; Shared SSL and osCommerce Quote
andypeat Posted February 6, 2004 Author Posted February 6, 2004 I think I'm still missing something. I have changed the includes/configure.php and then tried to go through the checkoutprocedure but now get: CGI ErrorThe specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are What else can I do? thanks Andy Quote
andypeat Posted February 7, 2004 Author Posted February 7, 2004 I'm still having trouble with the CGI error on setting-up SSL, do I need to request SSL to be put on my account? thanks Andy Quote
TCH-Rob Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 You may want to drop an helpdesk ticket and make sure they are installed. Quote
motarque Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 Hi, I'm trying to setup the OsCommerce stuff as well. Once i go to checkout, it gives me the a "cannot find server" page right after i download the certificate. I'm a newbie here, so I understand that I could easily be missing something very obvious. Any help would be appreciated. I have changed the configure.php file to exactly what you posted above. Is there something else I need? Thank you. Quote
motarque Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 Sorb Computers that's the link that will get you to the oscommerce stuff. Let me know if you see something screwy. Thanks. Quote
andypeat Posted February 8, 2004 Author Posted February 8, 2004 all sorted now, I went for the help desk and got an answer back really quick. thanks all Quote
TCH-Rob Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 Are you using the shared SSL from TCH because you are pointing to https://www.sharedsslserver.com/ at the moment and that isnt us. If you click the link in my first post and follow those instructions you should get it to work with our SSL. Quote
motarque Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 Hey, i found in the help section (duh) what I need to put in the configure.php file. However, in the help section it asks me to supply my "~username". I might be misunderstanding what it takes to enable shared SSL through TCH. I don't yet own my own certificate for my site. Again, being a newbie, I just don't always know what I should know to set all this up. Anyway, if I need to purchase a certificate first, then set all this up, then I'll look into that. Otherwise, I believe I've just tried to jump into something that I just don't understand well enough yet. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 OK, In the config.php file it should be https://serverxx.totalchoicehosting.com/~cPanelusername Replace serverxx with your server number, mine would be server17. Replace ~cPanelusername with your cPanel login name. Quote
motarque Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 excellent. did that, and it's working. thanks for your patience with me. Quote
