  1. Ok, here's the situation: We're working with a company for whom we bought the domain and server space from TCH. The plan was to get a public IP address, point the MX records to that IP addy and have the email inhouse. Aparently the ISP is stupid and we can't get a public IP, so there's no way to host email....or is there? The question is this: Without a Public IP, is there anyway to use the Exchange Server in conjunction with TCH's email so we can store the email inhouse on their server? If not, is there anyway to store email on the server, perhaps without using Exchange? I hope I'm making sense...if not, i'll try to clarify if needed. Thanks in advance.

  4. awesome. Thank you for responding. I appreciate it. I'll let ya know how it works. Thumbs Up
  5. do you know if it will work with checkboxes as well?
  6. i've downloaded a form mail program that uses PHP to generate an email containing the specific fields of a form. I do not know how to edit the PHP file (index.php) to "grab" all the fields and email them. The script is working, but right now it doesn't send the appropriate information yet. Here's a look at part of the php file: /***************************************************** ** Add further words, text, variables and stuff ** that you want to appear in the template here. *****************************************************/ $add_text = array( 'txt_additional' => 'Additional', // {txt_additional} 'txt_more' => 'More' // {txt_more} ); I'm guessing this is where I need to enter code to have the script grab the form data. Here's my form: <form action="form_mail/index.php" method="post" form id="contact_form"> <p> </p> <table width="100%" border="1" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="1"> <tr> <td width="49%"><div align="center"><strong><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Personal Information</font></strong></div></td> <td width="51%"><div align="center"><strong><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Interests</font></strong></div></td> </tr> <tr> <td height="180"> <p> <font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"> <input name="FName" type="text" id="FName"> First Name <br> <input name="LName" type="text" id="LName"> Last Name<br> <input name="Address" type="text" id="Address"> Address<br> <input name="City" type="text" id="City"> City <br> <input name="State" type="text" id="State"> State <input name="Zip_Code" type="text" id="Zip_Code"> Zip Code<br> <input name="Phone" type="text" id="Phone"> Phone No.<br> <input name="Email" type="text" id="Email"> Email</font></p></td> <td><table width="100%" height="184" border="1" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1"> <tr> <td width="41%">Avoiding Capital Gains</td> <td width="9%"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox" value="Avoiding Capital Gains"></td> <td width="40%">Charitable Estate Planning </td> <td width="10%"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox3" value="Charitable Estate Planning"></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Gifts & Receiving A Lifetime Income </td> <td><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox2" value="Gifts & Receiving A Lifetime Income"></td> <td>Endowments </td> <td><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox4" value="Endowments"></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Gifts of Stock,<br> Real Estate, & Commodities</td> <td><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox7" value="Gifts of Stock, Real Estate & Commodities"> </td> <td>Donation Account</td> <td><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox5" value="Donations Accounts"></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Wills vs. Living Trusts </td> <td><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox9" value="Wills vs. Living Trusts"></td> <td>Stewardship In Your Church </td> <td><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox6" value="Stewardship in Your Church"></td> </tr> </table></td> </tr> <tr> <td height="88" colspan="3"> <textarea name="Comments" wrap="VIRTUAL" id="Comments" dir="ltr" lang="en"></textarea> <input type="reset" name="Reset" value="Reset Form"> <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit"></td> </tr> </table> <p> </p> <p> </p> </form> Sorry for all the code, but I would hope that someone could help me with this. Of course I'm using dreamweaver to do this. Basically, I want to include in the email: Name (first, last), address, any checked boxes they choose, and additional comments. Thanks in advance. I appreciate it.
  7. Don't know if this is the right forum for this, so if it needs to be moved, that's fine. Ok, i've mostly used Dreamweaver to build my websites in HTML. I see more and more sites using PHP and, quite honestly, I'd like to learn about it and see if that would be a better way. Are there PHP editors similar to dreamweaver? Obviously, i'm a complete newb when it comes to this. Any sites and/or tools would be helpful. Thanks! Marc
  8. I have a form created in Dreamweaver that is basically a response form. Name, address, phone, email. It has check boxes for different items that they'd like to recieve info about. How can I make it so that when they click "submit" it sends an email to info@<sitename> with the information + the checked boxes information? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  9. awesome... man, how did i miss that? cool. thank you!
  10. I want to build a forum like this one for my page. It won't need to be extensively huge, just have maybe 5 topics. Where should I look for the code, or a template, or something like that? Thanks!
  11. I should clarify --- the links on the left in Firefox/Mozilla are running into the "search" field. in IE, they look just fine.
  12. I created this site using dreamweaver. When I view it in Firefox or Mozilla it lines up just a little different than IE. Can someone look at this with both and tell me what might be messing up? Link Thanks in advance...(if this is in the wrong forum, please move it...) Marc
  13. i found a search program that would index my site and generate a good search. Thanks! Marc
  14. I need a Search function on the top of each page. I know of Google's search thing, but I don't want Google's name there...i just want a type-box and a Search button. Know any good, simple scripts to do this? Thanks. Marc
  15. once you get the website up, what rights should you put on the folders so someone just can't browse all your files? thx.
  16. a weiner dog (weiner, wiener...however you spell it).
  17. hmm, ok. makes sense. Being it's for a school, it will have a fair amount of pictures associated with the site (sports, activities, staff, etc.). It won't contain flash as of yet (I don't know how to do that yet), but it will need regular updating (sports scores, announcements, etc.). Like i said, it would have 10-15 pages initially. If i take this project on, I'll no doubt use TCH for the hosting and domain name...just can't beat the prices and help!
  18. I need some advice. i've got a computer business and I'm just now beginning to delve into web design. I have a potential customer (my old high school) who really needs a new web page. Being that I've never sold my web design services, I was wondering what you all thought regarding a 10-15 page website that would need regular updating throughout the school year. My main question is: what are the going rates for custom web design? obviously, i'm not looking to make a killing here because my skills are not "professional". I've seen some companies selling their web design services for like, $1200 for a "starter" site. others, like TCH charge $200-$300 for a beginning package. Any ideas? Thank you.
  19. bellringr, thanks for the review. I'm a little cautious to put it on the "review my site" forum cause i'm still making alot of changes to it. I'll try to fix the scrolling thing and move the resolution to 800x600.
  20. Hello all, here's my site: 1. Sorb Computers 2. Sorb Computers 3. Building and selling Desktops, servers, and networks. Offer training, service, and custom-built computers. Based in Central Kansas, but offer online ordering for anywhere in the nation. 4. TCH backlink is on the bottom of the index.htm page. I used your logo as the link...is this a copyright infringement? I never know with that kind of stuff. Thank you.
  21. my wife and i took a cruise on our honeymoon that left from Galveston. Our cruise left at around 3:00 and we boarded around 12:00. We had lots of time to explore the ship. It was great....i long to go back and cruise again.
  22. every single item i have for sale is taxable, therefore they are all associated with the "Taxable Goods" tax class. There is only this one tax class. I just need to be able to remove the sales tax for people who have their products shipped outside of Kansas. I guess I didn't expect this to be this big of a problem. I'll check out the forums on oscommerce.com.
  23. My test user is having the item shipped to Colorado...not in Kansas. On the Order Confirmation page, it continues to show sales tax is applied to the order.
  24. ok, i'm tryin' to get this figured out. So far, it's not working the way I need it to. I have a Kansas tax zone, a Taxable Goods tax class, and 1 tax rate that is applied to the zone and class. I created a test user who lives in Colorado, and when I check out, the user from colorado is being charged the kansas sales tax. I guess I don't know how to link a user who has a Kansas address to my Kansas Tax Zone, or dis-associate a user w/o a Kansas address to my Kansas Tax Zone. Does this make sense?
  25. yeah, i've set up 2 tax rates. One for in-state transactions and one for out-of-state transactions. I was hoping I could get it to work so that if someone puts say, Washington as their delivery state, they would not be charged sales tax. Whereas, if they put my home state, Kansas, as their delivery state, they would be charged sales tax. Any ideas?
