jandafields Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 Why do .htaccess files not show up in FTP (FlashFXP)? It looks like directories are empty, but they can not be deleted if there is a hidden .htaccess file in there. I can use cpanel to remove the htaccess and delete directories, but that is not a good solution. -Josh- Quote
Alan Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 jandafields, Your saying "You can't see .htaccess in your FTP?" try smartFTP.com It's free, downloads fast, and I use it for my smaller needs, and it shows up in there. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 .htaccess is a hidden file, a lot of ftp programs wont show hidden files by default. Smart FTP shows hidden files, or you can view it with file manager in your cpanel. Quote
Deverill Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 There may be a setting in your ftp program to show hidden files too. I've not used flashfxp, though, so I can't tell you where it would be. Quote
brian Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 But, I can tell you how to do it in flashfxp:) There is a setting in the preferences for list type, it's under the Advanced tab. You click in the dot by 'Custom list', and in the box enter -ls, that will show every file. Quote
jandafields Posted January 12, 2004 Author Posted January 12, 2004 Thank you everybody for the help! Quote
brian Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 No problem at all. I used to use FlashFXP, until I got a site from Sourceforge that you can only upload to through SFTP, and then dropped it. Now I can't find a decent one that does SFTP. Quote
