deanavail Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 This topic has been discussed over the past few months...Can u folks validate the recommended process for those of us seeking to make this upgrade. 3 Posts already read on this include: in this forum On the IB planets forum on the Invision Power Series The Process as I see it calls for: 1. Download 1.3 Final from IPB downloads to where? 2. Unzip folder 3.upload all the files including subfolders and overwrite all existing ones excluding conf_global.php and sm_install.php 3. go to Tools_and_Scripts folder in your IPB download package. Go into the Other Scripts folder once inside this one, upload upgrade5.php & upgrade6.php to http://www.******/forum folder 4. Run upgrade5.php by calling it http://www.domain.com/forum/upgrade5.php in ur browser. Run through what the script does, step by step. This process changes the db format from 1.1.x to 1.2 5. Run upgrade6.php by calling it http://www.domain.com/forum/upgrade6.php in ur browser that changes the db format from 1.2 to 1.3 6. All skins, hacks and mods you used on 1.1.2 will now be gone. 7. Should I also download the update pack downloads: Security Update 12-16-03 & Security patch 02-01-04 at update pack downloads Kindest Regards Quote
Lianna Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 Sorry, I'm no help on this one. Haven't done an IB ugrade. Quote
deanavail Posted January 10, 2004 Author Posted January 10, 2004 Hi...Do u think I need to post this request in another forum at TCH or outside of TCH? Thanks, Dean Quote
TCH-Dick Posted January 10, 2004 Posted January 10, 2004 thats the correct steps, but if you need support for it you would need to post on IPB's forums. Quote
deanavail Posted January 13, 2004 Author Posted January 13, 2004 Thanks for the reply, so I am good to go but ...what about >7. Should I also download the update pack downloads: Security Update 12-16-03 & Security patch 02-01-04 at update pack downloads Regards, Dean Quote

deanavail Posted January 14, 2004 Author Posted January 14, 2004 Can any of the members who have gone through this upgrade chime in any comments? Quote
TCH-Dick Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 I've upgraded three forums to 1.3, the TCH forums were one of them. Quote
deanavail Posted February 18, 2004 Author Posted February 18, 2004 Just went through upgrade from 1.1.2 to 1.3 final...so far so good but have 1estions: 1. Both security patches The security patches listed here dated 12/16/03 and 02/01/04 were downloaded and unzipped, they each contained two files, forums.php and Functions.php. No instructions as to what to do with these files, I do not know what to do with them? 2. posts within forums which have code inserts are now of larger font and different font (looks like times roman or courier) instead of the post's normal font..where do I fix that 3. Also calendar font is larger, where do I fix that? 4. Calendar months on right hand side is now in center, can that be set back to the right hand side 5. Script Execution time now is 5.2508, seems too slow, any ideas? Quote
deanavail Posted February 19, 2004 Author Posted February 19, 2004 Regret is insight that comes a day too late............ 1.Still have yet to do anything with security patches? 2. fixed code inserts within posts by going to CSS style sheet and adjusting font and font size for #code. 3. Stil do not know how to get Calendar font tag in CSS style sheet, what is the tag for it? 4. forget about item 4, I will live with it. 5. Script excecution time is shorter now That leaves 2 out of 5......Generosity consists not the sum given, but the manner in which it is bestowed..... Quote
TCH-Dick Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 the invision forum is your best bet for getting answers to those questions, we dont provide support for IPB. You may eventually get an answer here, but the ipb forums would be quicker. I didnt have any problems whatsoever when I upgraded the three forums I maintain. , for the security patches you just upload them to their corresponding folder. Quote
deanavail Posted February 19, 2004 Author Posted February 19, 2004 That is wonderful for u Mike Quote

FYI: invisionpower no longer gives support for their free boards ~ only the paid ones now, but their are PLENTY of sites out there that have adequate support as well..........just google it.........
