cavalaxis Posted December 24, 2003 Posted December 24, 2003 Hiya, I'm a brand new customer, got my account confirmation email and so far, there's nothing on my cpanel page. I know it's right before the holiday. Should I wait a few days before I expect to see anything? Thanks, Lynn www.digitalcarrion.com (formerly with Xeran Hosting, left due to gross incompetence, glad to be a part of the TC family now!) Quote
cavalaxis Posted December 24, 2003 Author Posted December 24, 2003 Thanks! And thanks for deleting the double posts. Quote
TCH-Rick Posted December 24, 2003 Posted December 24, 2003 Your nameservers are still not set to ns1.totalchoicehosting.com and ns2.totalchoicehosting.com so you will not be able to access the CPanel using the domain name yet. You should be able to log in using the IP address as described in the welcome email. If you are talking about the stats in CPanel not recording anything, they will not work correctly until the domain has propagated. Quote
cavalaxis Posted December 24, 2003 Author Posted December 24, 2003 I opened a ticket. I am using the IP address (I haven't transferred the domain name yet) and I'm just getting a big ol' 404 for both the cpanel and the whm. Thanks and again, thanks for working on Christmas Eve. It's really appreciated. L. Quote
cavalaxis Posted December 24, 2003 Author Posted December 24, 2003 Okay, ticket closed. ::perplexed:: I think I gave the wrong user name (digitalc instead of dcarrion), but I'm still getting the 404 for my cpanel. http://209.152.174.96/cpanel I don't even get to a place where I can enter a login. I'm outta here at noon PST, so I can try it again from home, but I'm pretty sure it's not a firewall issue, because I'm getting the standard "The page cannot be displayed" error, not what I usually get when I hit a site that's blocked. TCH-Rick Posted December 24, 2003 Posted December 24, 2003 I just clicked on the link and was able to get the correct page. Quote
cavalaxis Posted December 24, 2003 Author Posted December 24, 2003 Okay, thanks. Then it must be the firewall. ::grumble:: Have a good holiday and thanks for the help, L. Quote
TCH-Don Posted December 24, 2003 Posted December 24, 2003 cavalaxis Welcome to the family and your new family! If you are behind a corporate firewall, you may not be able to get to your cpanel, it will not work for me at work. If you need anything, just ask your new family. And happy Holidays to you too! cavalaxis Posted December 24, 2003 Author Posted December 24, 2003 Thanks Don. I can tell you I've gotten more help in the first five minutes of being here than I probably did in the last year from my old host. That much is a relief. Again, thanks for the warm welcome and I'll let you know how the move goes. I've never shifted a full domain before. It should be exciting. Cheers, L. Quote
steven Posted December 24, 2003 Posted December 24, 2003 Keep in mind if it's CPanel on both hosts, it can be made *really* easy with the cpanel transfer function Quote
TCH-Dick Posted December 24, 2003 Posted December 24, 2003 cPanel runs over port 2082 99.9% of ll corporate firewalls block that port. Quote
lysdexic Posted December 26, 2003 Posted December 26, 2003 It's most definitely the firewall. Lynn and I are behind the same firewall and I can't see my control panel from here either. I just need to create a mysql database. Does anyone happen to know the direct address to phpMyAdmin? Thanks... Quote
TCH-Dick Posted December 26, 2003 Posted December 26, 2003 You can install phpmyadmin yourself and have access to it over a standard port, but there is no way to access the one thru cpanel directly. Quote
lysdexic Posted December 26, 2003 Posted December 26, 2003 What user and pass would I use? I tried using the same as I do for FTP, but it tells me I have no privileges to create a database? Thanks... Quote
