DarkHavoc Posted November 26, 2003 Author Posted November 26, 2003 You guys dont support resuming an upload?? not workin for me hi, i used smart-ftp but simply having too many problems using that with TCH. changing permissions.. files that say they are uploaded and arent.. it was such a pain now i switched to cuteftp and it did the same thing. the file usually bombs at 2-3mb. was a 5mb file. usaprepaidcards, Dennis, Quote
TCH-Dick Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 Time outs are normally an ISP routing problem, run a trace route and see if you have any slow response times between your pc and the server. Quote
dieguy Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 My FTP times out all the time when uploading, but it starts back up automatically. I use Flash FTP. Quote
DarkHavoc Posted November 30, 2003 Author Posted November 30, 2003 lucky.. i timeout in 300 secs its a pain = / can i get my timeout taken off? i have the keep alive fature built into my ftp and it doesnt keep me on Quote
Head Guru Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 We do not place a timeout for active FTP connections. The only timeout we place is a idle timeout. eg; if you sit idle for more than 300 seconds you will be disconnected. Quote
TCH-Don Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 I had a winmodem that did that to me a lot. Then I tried an external modem and it made a big difference. Also the phone line can hurt if there is any hum on it. I ran the phone line from outside to a cordless phone base next to the computer so I would not have too long a line indoors. That got rid of the hum, and upped my speed. Of course the isp can make a difference too. Eventually I lucked out with a good one. When I came here, it took me 35 minutes to upload my site with no interuptions. Quote
Head Guru Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 I made this offer a while back. Anyone on dial up that would like us to transfer their site just let us know. You can either give us access to your old account and we can copy the files or you can send in a CD to our office and we can upload them for you. Quote
