Can't Access Ftp

Hi,

 

I don't know if this is the right area to post to.

 

I cannot access my site with either of 2 different FTP's. It keep saying "host unkown". I am putting in ftp.mysitename.com and entering in the correct user name & password.

1. Have you changed the name servers for your domain to TCH yet?

If not then you will need to do that and then wait 24-72 hours for propagation before you will be able to use the domain name to access your site (http or via ftp).

 

If so,

2. Can you access your site on TCH servers via the domain name (ie: http://mysitename.com)?

If not, then propagation is probably not complete, just be patient.

 

If so,

3. Can you access via ftp using the IP address that was given to you in your welcome e-mail? In your ftp client, just enter the number for the host address, such as 111.123.11.12

 

Let me know some more specifics and I can help you out better.

I use WS FTP, and for host name all I have to enter is mysite.com, it doesnt work if I enter ftp.mysite.com

I still can't get it to work even without the ftp (mysite.com)

 

This is a brand new domain for me. I've never had any other domain and TCH is the first host I've had. (Although I have had sites for free-for-ads).

 

Can you help?

In order to help we would need the domain name. If you do not want to give the domain name out here send it by Private Message (PM) to one of us and we can look at it further. If the domain has not propagated you will need to use the IP address as the host address.
