kwermann Posted October 30, 2003 Posted October 30, 2003 Hi There, I have purchased an account for a client company. I registered the account under a domain name that is controlled by Network Solutions. Can you manage the domain and renew it annually as opposed to them? Also, I would like to purchase a second domain name and have it point at the site that i registered. Can you help me with this? Recommendations as to how to do so? The old hosting company will no longer be handling the domain in question. The domain being moved to TCH is baystateengineering.com, which is currently live. I also do not believe the owner of the domain has notified their host as of yet. They are curretnly receiving emails with the domain name as well, through the webhost. Will I have to modify anything special for the mail to route properly? And last but not least, can you facilitate this move? Best Regards, Ken Rock Sign Quote
TCH-Rob Posted October 30, 2003 Posted October 30, 2003 Ken, You can transfer your domain to TCH and renew it here. You may also purchase a new domain and park it on top of the old one. You say someone else owns the old domain. If that person is the administrative contact they will have to respond to some emails that will be sent during the transfer. You will have to set up the email accounts in cPanel with the same names to ensure they will continue to work correctly. When you say can we facilitate the move are you asking if we can do it for you? Quote
kwermann Posted October 30, 2003 Author Posted October 30, 2003 Hi there, I posted a reply earlier but it was gone? I am looking for guidance in moving the domain from Network solutions to your company. As for the second parked domain, can you send me information such as costs associated with setting up the domain, and then parking it? Thank You, Ken Quote
TCH-JimE Posted October 30, 2003 Posted October 30, 2003 Hi, Your post was not deleted, we have just tonight moved the forums, so your post proberley got caught up in the in moving. You have several possible choices: 1) Move your domain to us. You will need to start a domain transfer. This will take 3-7 days and will cost you $10.95 which will add one more year to your current domain length. We have no control over how much they will charge you to release it. 2) You can change the domain name servers to point to ours. This is free and takes upto 72 hours to come into effect 3) You can buy a domain and then we can park it for you. This will mean it will be placed ontop of your current website so it points to the same route directory as your current one does. Its free to park, so all you pay is the cost of the domain name! Any more questions, let us know! Jim Quote
