Guest Jim Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 I've viewed your website, FAQ and forums but was unable to locate details answer to the following questions. 1) 30 Day Money Back Guarantee: The web site references this claim but does not provide any details regarding the terms, conditions and process associated with evoking it. 2) I have an existing registered domain name due to expire in Apr ’03. Am I correct in understanding that it’s not necessary for me to transfer my domain name? If not, is there any value I should be aware for transferring my registered domain name? 3) The cost of the domain transfer and 1 yr renewal is $10.95. Can I renew my domain name for more than a 1 year period? (i.e. 3-5 yrs). 4) Are there any features or functions your are aware of which are not supported when using MS Front Page 2002? 5) Is the total storage space used based on the combined total of email and web hosting? Is there any space requirements for overhead associated with mailboxes or web pages I should be aware of when calculating my total storage space requirements? 6) When I select plan feature page, select one of the items under features for more detail, I get a 2nd pop-up window appearing with a 404 page not found error. This happens for any of the items. 7) Do you have any examples of the type of information provided for page statistics? Thanks for your help Quote
Lianna Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 1. Money back. That's it. Not happy? Within 30 days of sign up? You can have your money back and search for a new host. It's that simple here. 2. Transferring your domain to SNH is NOT necessary. You will need to change the name servers to point to us though. Advantage to transferring is the cost...but I don't know what you are currently paying annually to help you calculate the savings. You can always choose to transfer later if you like. ...But the DNS change MUST be made to use your package here. 3. Sorry, I don't know the answer to this, but will look. (My guess? yes) 4. There are many current customers using Frontpage 2002 without issues. 5. Yes, mailbox allocations are a part of your total space. A brand new account with no features configured and Frontpage Extensions installed uses .16MB. This should be added to your requirements. 6. Don't know what's up with that. I'll take a look and let the webmaster know. Thanks for the heads up! 7. There are two different statistics packages offered in cPanel: Webalizerand AWStats. You will also have access to raw logs to do with what you choose. Hope that about covers it! Good luck searching and I hope you consider us further. Lianna Quote
Lianna Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 Per #3 - Multiple year domain renewal - How can I transfer my domain name for more than one year? When you transfer a domain your registration is automatically extended one year. Once the transfer is completed you can renew your domain name registration for up to 10 years. The transfer takes 5- 7 business days. Once your domain name transfer is completed, please follow these directions to renew the domain-name registration: Select "Manage My Account" from the menu. Click "Domain Names" and log in with your user name and password. A list of your registered domains will be displayed. From the list, select the domain name you wish to renew. You can also search for domain names by using the domain search function. Another option is Quick Search, which enables you to search for a domain name by selecting a registration or expiration time frame (e.g. “Past 7 Days” or “Next 30 Days). Click “Renew Domains.” Select the desired renewal period from the drop-down list. Click "Submit." Finally, visit the shopping cart to review your order and submit your billing information. So, you transfer first (1 year renewal automatically with that) THEN you can renew for multiple years at any time. Oh, and I see what you were talking about with the 404 error / new windows on the website. I'm following up on that now. Thanks again for the heads-up! Lianna Quote

Lianna @lstoverwith I don't see awstats offerend in the Cpanel...I was trying to set that one up on my site manually, but I couldn't find the path of my log file, as far as I know the only way i have access to the logs is via cpanel...not directly...So i just gave up and ran extreme tracking instead. Lianna Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 That's weird. It's in mine. Which theme are you using for cpanel? Maybe that will explain it. Using BlueLagoon, it's right under Webalizer in the list. Lianna Quote
section31 Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 Argh...for some reason I don't always get an email notification to a topic I subscribe to...Is this happening to any of you guys... OK, getting back to our topic... Under stats in the cpanel bluelagoon, I get ---- Webalizer Web Stats Webalizer Ftp Stats Urchin Stats ----->link is broken Analog Stats Latest Visitors Bandwidth Error Log Raw Log File Thanks, Dave Quote
Lianna Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 That's weird. Urchin Stats is in the exact spot that AW stats is on my panel. Do you know what server you're on? Tell you what, can you drop a help desk ticket on this so the guys with power can look and see? Thanks. Lianna Quote
section31 Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 When i login via ftp, i connect to this server --->> server8.totalchoicehosting.com. So, U want me to drop a line and ask why i have urchin stats instead of aw stats? Quote
Lianna Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 Yep, the help desk can get it figured out pretty quick I'm sure. Or at least they can tell you why server4 (me) and server8 (you) are different. Lianna Quote
TCH-Rick Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 I get the same selections as section31. I think I am on server 10. Quote
Lianna Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 Thanks for the info. Anybody else not seeing AWStats? Can you guys tell me something else? Login to cpanel and scroll to the bottom. On the left, tell me what version of cpanel you're running? I'm on 5.3.0 Release Build 117 Thanks. L Quote
section31 Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 I'm running Cpanel Version/Build 5.3.0-STABLE Build 116 Quote
TCH-Rick Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 I'm running CPanel Version/Build 5.3.0-RELEASE Build 117 No AW Stats here. Quote
Larry Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 I also dont see it. Cpanel Version/Build 5.3.0-RELEASE Build 117 Quote
Lianna Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 Server 8 and Server 10 should now see AWStats available. Head Guru just added them. They were inadvertently skipped during the build of the servers. It may take 24 hours for numbers to generate so please be patient. Cheers, now go play with your new numbers! Lianna Quote
Lianna Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 Uhh. I dunno? Sorry Larry, I didn't know what server you were on. Awstats not on that one either? I'll put in a followup for each server to get checked out. How's that? For the time being, 4, 8 and 10 are good for sure. Hang in there and I'll update here when they are all verified. Lianna Quote
section31 Posted January 26, 2003 Posted January 26, 2003 hm...Thanks lianna, but one more thing...When I click on awstats, I get Error: Couldn't open config file "awstats.section31.us.conf" nor "awstats.conf" : No such file or directory Setup (Config file, web server or permissions) may be wrong. See AWStats documentation in 'docs' directory for informations on how to setup awstats. Could this be because I have an empty awstats directory under my tmp directory...??? Thanks, D Quote
Lianna Posted January 26, 2003 Posted January 26, 2003 Very well could be, but if it's not right by tomorrow afternoon, drop a help desk ticket on it for followup ok? Lianna Quote
