Hi all,

Might be wrong place to ask but i have looked everywhere now...

Long time ago bravenet, had a service called "humanclick", a live-help thing you could place on your website and it worked like internal instant messaging. That service is gone (as a free service). Does anyone know a similar good and free service i can use on my site?

Ok, thanks Mr Headguru for this recommendation of phpMySupport. :-)

I tried to install it but ran in to a problem, when installing it tells me to tell DNS info. I tried the NS1.total... NS2.total... 207... But no one works. What am I doing wrong? B)

Hi Thomas.

Is the "DNS" thing it asks about the first text box of them all? If so, that's the database server host name. You just need to put 'localhost' there (without the quotes). :goof:

Hm, all it tells me is "Database connection failed"

Instructions says:

- Upload all the files - Note: must be in a top level directory

(http://www.yoursite.com/phpmysupport) and the directory must be called

phpmysupport unless you change the code

I did that.

- CHMOD /images/ to 777

Did this too.

- CHMOD /includes/database.php to 777

That too.

- Run http://www.yoursite.com/phpmysupport/install/

I do.

- Click on Fresh Install

I am.

- Follow the on-screen instructions

I do.

- Once the installation is complete:

- Delete all the install files /install/

- CHMOD /includes/database.php to 644

To access the admin interface go to http://www.yoursite.com/phpmysupport/admin/

Default login - username: admin

password: pass

Where is it Im doing something wrong?

Yes, unless there is nothing more i need to upload than the files included in this.

There is a database called database.php included in this.

So far I have given the install the following info:

DNS: localhost (as told by borfast)

Database name: database.php

Database username: admin

Database password: pass

Then I click "NEXT" and i get the message "Database connection failed"

- CHMOD /images/ to 777 and - CHMOD /includes/database.php to 777 ARE set to 777.

Im just so stuck on this.

I was in to my cpanel to check on databases, with knowing a thing about databases, all I could tell in there was that it does not seems to be a database for it. But if it tells me to upload a file called database.php, isnt there supposed to be a database then? Any magicians wanna help me on this, I would appreciate it alot.

You need to go to your cpanel, then to manage mysql and create a database, you will also need to create a user for the database and then assign the user you created to the database.

Then in this section of the config it would be

DNS: localhost (as told by borfast)

Database name: cpanelname_databasename

Database username: cpanelname_dbaseusername

Database password: whatever password you specified
