RockNRollPig Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 okay...on the webhosting plans it says "shared SSL - free"....but then when you click to get more info it starts takling about paying to have it hosted and installed and what not....i'm confused... Quote
Wilexa Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 TCH Gurus can chime in, but the quick answer is... See The SSL Page. Shared SSL is free. But your URL would look like: https://server*.totalchoicehosting.com/~username/ Pretty ugly if I do say so myself! Not confidence-inspiring to customers (if they even look at it). Your own SSL costs $$. ...Dave Quote
TCH-Rob Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 Josh, Dave is right about the shared SSL, you can have the free version but it will look like the example given. Not only that but many customers will get a security warning as well, that will scare a good number of paying customers off. This is one case where if you are going to do it, do it right the first time. Get an SSL cert that belongs to you, it will pay for itself. Quote
TCH-JimE Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 Hi, Remember to drop a help ticket to the desk if you need it enabled Thanks Jim Quote
jslagle Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 It's an easy process too. I ordered my certificate one afternoon and it was installed and operational a couple of hours later. Quote
