Something I aquired on the way home from the store gave me the idea for this topic.

Whats something you have bought or traded for that you got a REALLY good deal on? doesnt have to be computer related.

I stopped at a garage sale this morning and bought a 17" monitor for $5

Funny, I didn't see you at the garage sale this morning :)

We were planning to purchase a little tykes play fort this weekend. They are about $200 or so new.

Our community holds an annual community wide garage sale and this is the weekend for it. Usually 40 or 50 folks with stuff in their driveways.

We left the house this morning and drove around just to look (cheap entertaiment) One of our neighbors had the same model fort we planned to purchase in good shape for $15.00. We paid her and it's setting in the backyard now.

I wanted to go to the computer store since I suddenly had $185.00 extra but my wife wouldn't let me. :(

Now for the funny part. We don't have kids it is for our cocker spaniels.

hehe I know ALL about shopping your your four legged family members, we have 4 wiener dogs and one mix breed that was my moms that now THINKS she is a wiener dog.

I love garage sales, the same one I got the monitor from had a laser copier that they claimed works but it looked like it had been in an attic for a few years, If I didnt already have a scanner and printer I dont use i probably would have bought it to :)

My best deals have been on musical instruments. I bought a Yamaha Soprano Sax for $450 and had to sell it a few years later. First guy to look at it paid me $1000. I also bought a Mark VI Alto Sax used for $450 back 20 years or so ago, was offered $850 for in just a month or so later and have seen some made about the same time as mine go for over $3000 on EBay in the past. I don't plan on selling it. I also bought my wife a beat up nasty looking flute for $50. I fixed it up myself and ends up it is solid silver, plays great, and worth much more than what I paid. Now, let's not talk about my luck with cars.
