I recently followed some online advice [i know before you tell me :( ]

and submitted my site to World Wide Promoter [enable popup stopper or whatever you've got] and as advertised I got listed on a whole load of search engines very quickly, B) I also recieved 123 junk emails, :( .

Thats right. . . suprised my server didn't spot something with that quantity flying to me at once. Anyone planning on doing the same be warned and use an unimportant email address.

I need to keep the address active because they validate it weekly.

Oh no!

Head Bash

But I have since recieved confirmations from most of the sites [google, yahoo, altavista, alltheweb, blh blah blah. . .] saying my site has been submitted so if you can tolerate the SPAM its a useful tool.

I hate to be the one to bring bad news, but you can pretty much do the same thing via your CPanel account with no Spam at all! B)

Just go to Site Management, and under that look for "Search Engine Submit" and there you go.. :(

Just checked it out ~ ~ ~ does all I need.

Cool.

I'm recieving 2-3 emails every half hour at the moment from the other one.

I wonder how long before my inbox database exceeds my hard drive space?

I think that emails going to have to go.

Thanks cerealkeeler

I do not recommend any automated submission service or software. It actually can be very dangerous... provoke spamming filters which can result in penalty or all out removal from index.

Just go to Site Management, and under that look for "Search Engine Submit" and there you go.

This includes use of cPanel's 'Search Engine Submit'.

This subject has been addressed in our site's search engine optimization pages under search engine submission.

Those tips are great, I've tried to put some body text on my homepage rather than just links and I've revised my keywords to be more specific.

I've applied to be part of the family as well as I know it will help with inbound links.

Thanks for all the tips
